AShley Nicole - Stars To Come

“Ashley is a wonderful new pop artist coming from Florida and she is not wasting anytime getting her music heard. She is a singer/songwriter who came into the public eye only about a year ago. She may not have been at it long, but she sure is making waves and her fan base is growing quickly. Ashley already has her first two originals out with more following close behind. Her first original titled, "Average Girl" is a great song with an awesome beat. This song was very well written, and Ashley did an outstanding job delivering it. She says this song is saying that people may think you are something you are not and it really doesn't matter what they think just be yourself. Her other original, "Another Heartbreak" is about the struggle of relationships and saying don't rush into things. It is to reach the younger group saying relationships aren't as good as they sound. This is another amazing song, very well done; her fans are going to love it.” — Tommy Neal, Stars To Come

By Matt Reinstetle THE LEDGER Published: Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9:54 p.m. Last Modified: Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9:54 p.m. When Country Music Television approached professional pranksters Jeremiah Hatfield and his friend Big Ox about doing a show, they wanted to make sure it would be authentic.

It doesn't take long flipping through TV channels to find scripted (fake) reality TV. Shows are presented as reality, but with prearranged setups and reactions. So it was a relief when CMT wanted them to be themselves while the cameras were recording.

"The first day we were shooting, I got a black eye," Hatfield said.

Jeremiah and Big Ox will star in "Hillbillies for Hire," a reality TV prank show filmed in Polk County, which premieres 9 p.m. Sunday on CMT.

"This is 100 percent real," Hatfield said. "We literally beat the crap out of ourselves for entertainment and we pull no punches on these pranks. They're pretty exhausting and painful."

The duo is based out of Winter Haven, but they go all over Polk County.

After the premiere, the show will move to its regular time slot starting July 21 at 8 p.m., where it will stay for its remaining nine episodes.

The show features Hatfield, 37, and Ox, 26, of Lake City, planning, setting up and executing elaborate pranks on their friends and whomever for a fee — "A-Team" style.

The two started pranking as children on their own siblings. They first met in late 2006 in North Florida when Hatfield, a Polk County native, was looking for a partner in crime to join him on his hijinks. He saw Ox, whose real name is Ed Bussey, hit him over the head with a beer bottle, offered him a shot of liquor and the rest is history.Since then, the two began doing elaborate pranks on their friends, family, their clients' targets and themselves on YouTube and various TV outlets.

Hatfield and Big Ox have a different interpretation of the term "redneck."

"Our definition of a ‘redneck' is any hard-working individual that has fun with little or no money," Hatfield said.

Jordan Harman, "Hillbilles for Hire" executive producer and CMT's vice president of development and programming, said a feature on them was pitched to the network by multiple people.

Harman said Hatfield and Big Ox fit the bill for the CMT viewer because they're from a small county but think with amazing ingenuity to pull off the pranks.

Harman said what separates this show from other prank shows is getting to see the setup before the execution.

"With ‘Punk'd,' you never really saw that," Harman said. "With these other shows, you kind of just see the prank happen, but this show shows you more behind the scenes of how they figure this stuff out."

Pranks include exploding beer, boats that start to take on water without having a hole and a portable restroom on a pontoon sent into alligator-infested waters.

The show began shooting in March and wrapped production late June. Hatfield said there were no wires or camera tricks, it's all them. CMT was willing to risk them breaking limbs and needing stitches. Throughout filming, they'd come home with new injuries and their family and friends would ask how it happened and they'd tell them to wait for the show to air."We've already been hit with this, ‘Oh, you guys are going to be celebrities' and we really don't care," Hatfield said. "We do not care. That's not what we do this for.

"This is stuff we're doing because we love to do it and it's a lot of fun. It's stuff we do anyway."
