Rise To The Music

Everyone thinks it's cool to join a band. When you start out young, it's something that friends can do together to pass the time and get those creative juices flowing. It gives you a sense of belonging because, for however short or long a time, you're a part of something special and unique.

You may be saying, "there are so many bands out there, how is being in a band unique?" Each band is different, to state the obvious. Each band has their own unique style and sound, because each person puts a part of themselves into that band and into their music. Not only is it a bond between friends, between musicians, but it is a bond between a person and the music.

Everyone loves music. How many times have you said or heard someone say, "music is my life" over and over? I'm guessing a lot. It is a passionate hobby, an intricate skill that needs hours of dedication and drive.

I know a lot of bands start out thinking that they're going to make it big. Some of them do, and some of them don't. There are other bands who play for fun in the garage who never think they'll make it anywhere, but wind up on the Best Seller list. It is a tricky, difficult process. But that's why it makes it so special. You're working together as a unit to produce something beautiful to share with the world.

This site alone is an amazing tool for broadcasting such an art. I have listened to so many amazing artists on here, and some from my area alone that I otherwise never would've heard about. Each of these bands has the potential to make it big, they've just got to give it their all.

This may sound a little corny, but I feel quite privileged to be able to sign onto a site like this and have people from around the world share their music. I love discovering new artists and new sounds and getting involved not only with the different bands but with different genres of music.

I guess what I'm getting at is, don't give up. Obviously I can't possibly listen to every single band on here, and though I may not be a huge fan of every particular genre, I know each and every musician deserves their chance at fame. You all deserve a chance for your voices to be heard.
