I've loved music probably before I was born. My husband still thinks that I'm weird - I can name songs from the 1920's! Coming from a heritage of world music, classical, pop, rock and roll, the classics, folk, Louisiana cajun music, bluegrass, rockabilly, traditional and new country music - from both sides of my family - I have been blessed and enthralled by a love for all music...ok, not rap or heavy metal, please.
I'm just a dressed up Country girl, born and purebred YaYa Sisterhood Texan, cotillion ball presented and have an ear for great music.
Both my grandmothers Lafitte and Chastun / DeRoche could play anything by ear and I suppose I inherited that too. My dad was a saxophone player in his youth, and my mother could sing like a dream. In fact, Mom and Dad won a jitterbug contest when she was 7 months preggers with me!
There was always music on in all the homes of my extensive family. And, I still revel in the beauty, passion and truth in all types of music.
For over 35 years, I've been in PR and Marketing, a writer and inquisitive journalist. I just happened to have been given a title in my journalistic endeavors as National Country Music Examiner/columnist/reviewer, same for my Houston Country Music column - and one column that has nothing to do with music, but is special to me as I have experienced it twice, firsthand and have seen loved ones experiences when passing away - National Near-Death Examiner/columnist/researcher. You are more that welcome to subscribe to my free columns - in fact, I would love it! Who knows? You could be the subject of my next article!
My mission is to spread the word about all the wonderful music out there wherever I find it. It's like finding diamonds amidst the leaves - what a thrill!
I just wanted to tell you a little more about myself and how much I appreciate you as musicians and even friends. I usually stay on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, so please say hello and send me to your music. I can't get to all requests, but I try.
I would be so honored if you would subscribe to my columns at

and if you have an interest or story in near-death experiences, please share with me also. I don't have to use your name unless you agree to do that -
