Dear Masters of Nice Sound,
My name is Malte Aronsson. I suffer from multiple disabilities, and need assistance with most daily things. I spend my days here at this home for the disabled, and there isn't much I am able to do, since I'm more or less paralyzed, even though I would love to get outdoors some time. I envy those who are able to walk. I would have loved to just walk in the forest or explore the wonderful nature. But I am unable. The personal assistants who work at the "facility" where I live just don't have the time to let us get outside. They do open the the windows some times. That's nice, it's wonderful to breath the cool breeze and the smell of the pines.
My greatest sadness was when my parents left me here and I became an orphan. That was some years ago, though. I'm grown up now. Still it hurts me sometimes, my mother and father were everything to me, I didn't know anything else at the age of 6 when they left me here. I remember I waited and waited and waited for them to come and bring me away from this Hell on Earth ... at least for a 6 year old. Or just come to give me a hug. But they never showed up since. Not even at birthdays or Christmases. Not even a postcard greeting! Tears come sometime when I see others who live here having visitors, and all happy smiles and jolly voices. These things goes for my best friend here, Bengt-Åke, too. He was also orphaned here when he was very young.
Our lives are not worthy, being more or less paralyzed, getting bedsores, needing assistance with almost everything, it's not at all meaningful. No it isn't. It's not easy to stay strong under such circumstances. If only we would have had the possibility, we would have had commit suicide long time ago. Truly.
Music, though, is a good way to lighten our minds up. Internet, RN, FaceBook, YouTube and other places are our main ways to try to come out from our darkness, to discover and enjoy great music, appreciate and respect the hard work musicians lay down on their music. When we hear something we really love, we try to contact the people behind that music to tell them how much we adore their music, to have a chat and sometimes may be also ask for autographs.
Our personal assistants are kind enough to put any autographed picture we receive from artists we adore in frames, and have them placed on the walls in our private rooms, When we enjoy listening to great Music we appreciate it very much if we could actually see the person(s) behind the same.
In case you get a request from us for autographs - please feel honoured. That means we love your music and want to show our respect for your hard work, that way. The only thing we ask is to provide us with two autographed photos, one for my friend Bengt-Åke, and one for me, Malte. The frames are in size A4 (8x11") so please try to send us something in that size.
Please let me know if you want something from us in return.
The adress where both photos could be sent …
