Joe T. & Company will not make the Sandhills Sankofa Festival on Oct 2 ...

... Joe & the available Mebanaires have elected to sit out tomorrow's show at the Sandhills Sankofa Festival as Joe recovers from a recent bout of dizzy spells and related physical inconveniences ... overall, he's doing well and looking forward to entertaining friends, family, neighbors and fans real soon ... as we did with him yesterday at his rehab center in Graham, NC ... http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=128060007208123&ref=nf

... But remember if your out in the Eastern Sandhills, don't forget to check out the festival! More info at http://www.sfha-nc.org/ ... Stay tuned, L et al

Joe T. update ... music in activity hall ...

... Steve Kruger and I brought instruments by this mid morning; Joe tuned up, struck up a tune and, after one tune, Joe et al were promptly ushered into the activity hall for an impromptu concert for the staff and residents. Joe was very much his usual musical and performance self, and the whole event was much appreciated by the listeners. Joe is looking and feeling much better ... If you're in the neighborhood, drop in and chat; you, as well as Joe, will be glad that you did. If you're a musician familiar w/Joe's repertoire, bring instruments w/you. The WHOLE facility will be glad you did! No word on release date yet. Stay tuned ...

Joe T. update ... steady improvement

"We found (Joe) well on yesterday (Sept 23), sitting up and eating heartily around 5:00 p.m." Iris Thompson Chapman, Mebane, NC

Joe T. Update ...

... made it by the Durham VA today ... according to the staff, Joe has made steady progress since his admission on Sunday (19 Sept) ... the medical folks have ruled out seizure, heart attack or stroke ... which they felt good about ... probably some issue related to a short-term cranial electro-chemical, metabolic imbalance ... or something ... but they're really not sure ... continuing to observe Joe, run different tests, conduct physical therapy and help him gain back strength ... Joe looked like himself, had a good appetite, but was weary and still sometimes somewhat confused as to specific time & place ... but clearly progressing ... Polly was ready for him to come home, but that event remains undetermined ... no bar on visitors or well-wishing cards ... visitors seem to have a salutary effect on hizolextraverted self ... he's currently on the 7th floor, B wing, room 16 of the VA but that can always change, I suppose ... I hope to get by again tomorrow myself, but them we're out of state until late next week ... may he continue to have al the oil in his vessel that he might need! FORZA JOE!
