Music Download Change

I decided to no longer sell music downloads at Bandcamp and Reverbnation. The links to my recordings at Bankcamp have been removed from my Store page. This is due to having a concern that someone could buy inexpensive MP3 downloads and use them in unauthorized ways. With that in mind, I will focus on music licensing as a way to receive a financial return from my music. [...]

Seeking Music Placements #2

I had a change of attitude about selling my music at Productiontrax. I spent some time today listening to several pages of jazz recordings at the site. My honest impression is every track I heard sounded amateurish and all of the recordings were made with a keyboard or synthesizer. I could not help but think if a real band played this music in a jazz club it would get shouted off the stage. Based on what I heard, and the range of prices being charged for these tracks, I decided to rai...

Twilight Sail Recording

David Arivett made a recording of Twilight Sail. The demo sounds like violin, piano, bass, and drums. It can be heard at the Twilight Sail page on my website. The tune has also been added to my recordings at Productiontrax and is available for placement in TV & film.  [...]

Interview With Rich Pulin 6/29/15

Rich Pulin (based in Las Vegas) will broadcast a 1-hour interview with me, and play a selection of my recordings, on June 29 at 3:30 PM (East Coast). The show will be called "Roger Aldridge: Roots to Out". The broad stylistic range of my writing will be presented -- from rags & fiddle tunes to avant-garde pieces and lots in between. I will post more information as we get closer to the date.  [...]

Productiontrax

Productiontrax is my latest effort to branch out in music licensing. This music library is flexible in having licenses for both personal and commercial uses. Purchasing a license and receiving the download file is an easy process at the Productiontrax website. Multi-track packages can be created. These are sold under the commercial license at a discounted price per track.  http://www.productiontrax.com/profile.php?id=10056 [...]

Seeking Music Placements

One of my goals for this year is to focus more on music licensing. Composing for film or TV does not interest me. However, several composer friends told me how my originals could do well as placement music in film, TV, theater, etc. That inspired me to explore this new direction. If some of my tracks can receive placements, the money will help to fund new recordings of my music and enable it to be heard. Please see the Music Licensing page on my website for details. [...]

The Green-Roofed Barn

The Green-Roofed Barn has been added to my website. This tune draws upon Scottish fiddle music; however, it has a quirky spirit. The recording has been added to my music at Productiontrax and is available for placement in TV & film.  [...]

Site Improvements For Smartphones

Thanks to Weebly, my website should work on any desktop or mobile device. That said, until recently all of the work that I have done on my site has been in desktop edit mode. For the past couple of days I have looked at each page of my site in mobile edit mode. I discovered that minor changes were needed in the formatting of several pages. I also discovered that embedded code for Vimeo video players, which I had been using, was problematic for mobile. So, I went back to using the Weebly bui...

The Sailmaker's Cat

The Sailmaker's Cat has been added to my website. It is an older fiddle tune that I recently found in my music files. I remembered that I liked this tune and decided to dust it off. Fiddle players (and other musicians) are welcome to give it a try. [...]
