One Day At A Time, Sweet Jesus

"One Day At A Time, Sweet Jesus." That's how I feel most of the time. So far, I've found a cute coffee shop by TCU to play at on Thursdays. I got some great feedback, including my favorite: "I don't like country music, but I like your stuff." And I got that compliment after playing a pretty typical country style song I wrote, "Give Me A Real Man." I've just started my 8-5 job out here so I haven't had a chance to play at the Stockyards, but that will certainly be my next venture. There is an open mic night weekly at an awesome country bar called "White Elephant Saloon" that I visited when I came out here during July. I plan to hit up that spot in two weeks... By then, I'll be comfortable with my job and past the business of the next couple weeks. I wrote a new song about a week and a half ago, called "Back In Alabama." Granted, I've never been there, but sometimes we write music from our heart, rather than simply our experiences. The character of my song is definitely me, even if her experiences are slightly variant. Well, that's all for now, folks. I plan on getting a recording up of the new song in the next 2 weeks, and I'll be sure to give you the scoop on the open mic at the Stockyards. Happy Thanksgiving!

Relocation to Fort Worth

My apologies for not keeping this up-to-date. The truth is, I've spent most of the last year doing volunteer work at the local church and haven't been doing too much performing. I am happy to say that the time is coming for some brand new songs, and some new venues. The relocation to Fort Worth has taken up the majority of my time for the past few months, but I am beginning to feel like I am settling in. Be on the lookout for new information and/or new songs in the next couple of months. I'm hoping to get the ball rolling soon, but still have some research to do in order to make the appropriate next move. I want to again thank all my fans for your loyal support. As any good artist knows, what we do is not possible without all of you!

Food for thought:

All women, from the time they are little girls, dream about being rescued by a prince, a knight in shining armor. Then they go to school and are told that women rule and should let men know that they won't tolerate being treated differently. Then they bitch about not being treated well enough by their man.

Ladies, please... don't castrate your men. If you want a real man - a prince - you better act like a princess, not a dragon.

Fiddler needed

This is completely last minute... my fiddler canceled on me and I am supposed to be recording this weekend. Do you or anyone you know play the fiddle and would be willing to do a recording this weekend?
