2008 - I began remastering the original cassette version of Eden Myrrh Instrumental. Brad & Trent Morley (bass) helped me give it new life. Brad & I recorded the drum tracks in Calgary. This is cd 2. on LOST ANTHOLOGY. I was really amped up about getting things off the ground. maybe too much. There was still no possible way to financially do it. Over this time I'm sure fellow musicians got upset. However my hands were tied. For that I apologize.
2009 - I had spoken with Donna in early Febuary. We had made peace as we hadn't seen eye to eye for sometime. On Febuary 16th she passed away. She had been sick for sometime.
2011 - On August 13th I released TIMELESS. Its the Behind the Music. It went over well with fans and made new ones. Read the blog regarding it. Copies are still available.
2013 - Its been 25yrs of playing and writing. It should be noted that this isn't just about the past. I've always continued writing after 2004. Listen to 'Interview with Jules IV'. I'm out meeting new people/musicians. Vocalists will be announced soon to finish recording. After that start promoting, I'm getting a new lineup and want to start playing live in 2014. I'm confidante in what I'm finishing will connect with people. On a cool note, I recently found the same guitar that Todd used exclusively a Jackson JRR - 94 Concept. I'm revamping it. Over the last 10yrs its been up & down. Now things have really stabilized. I'm in a really comfortable & happy place. One thing for sure, is that music will never leave me again. I'm back!
1994-96 - My work in telecommunications had shifted to Calgary. I was dating a chick who lived in Vauxhall. So spent a fair amount of time there. Todd came out in the summer. We had a great time just hanging out. I moved to Edmonton in spring of '96. Todd & I were sending taped back & forth writing Dark Acoustic songs. Todd settled in Kelowna, BC. he was happy there. These songs are on INSURRECTION.
1997 - During this time I began working in MIDI City Studios with Denise R'ockell. It was a busy time musically for me and I really enjoyed working with new artists. Especially after being so quiet for 2yrs.
1998 - I made a trip to Portland, Oregon in late '97. I met up with a few musicians looking for a guitarist. We talked over the course of a few months and in March I moved and played in Midnite Serenade. I still came back to work on Denise's solo effort. As well as stop in and visit with Todd in Kelowna. We were writing more heavier songs by now. This period is captured on AND FIRE FOR ALL MY FRIENDS cd. The band in Portland failed and I left in August back to Alberta.
1999 - I needed to regroup and just settle down for a bit. Too much moving and failed bands. So I began the year working up in Conklin, AB on a pipeline project. Making killer cash. The job ended and I moved to Edmonton and got a apartment. Todd came out 3 times over the year and we began working on our songs we had created over the last 4yrs. This period of time hanging out was fun. This is captured on TIMELESS.
2000-01 - I began working on the Drilling Rigs. Todd came out in April and we moved to a Apartment on 82nd st. A nice, huge pad. All redone. The only problem was that Todd missed Donna. Shortly after he left to go back to Kelowna. I couldn't blame him. I could see he wasn't happy. However musically, something began shutting down with me. I slowly lost interest. What was the point. We still talked all the time. Hell...We were still best friends. Todd's finally visit was in October 2001. It was a tough time for both of us. Our conversations weren't as optimistic as they were a short time before.
2002 - In January I had talked with Todd about a web-site. He liked the idea, but was not into it as much as I had hoped. It was in my hands and frustrated me. Then on the early morning of Febuary 9th - 2002. I got a call from Donna saying Todd had passed away in his sleep. It was also my 32nd birthday. I went to Kelowna. Seen Donna and went down to his musicroom and brokedown. Why...? The next day I went to the funeral. One thing that happened I didn't expect was his father (who had been hard on us over the years) came up to me and gave me a sincere hug. I refused to see him till after everyone was gone. Then picked up one of his guitars and played. Said my peace and goodbye. Then went back to Edmonton. I felt dead inside. I packed up all my equipment and left it at my house. Not much happened for the next 2yrs. Just worked and self medicated.
2004 - I felt in my heart for awhile that I needed to go home. I needed to connect with my music. So in September I moved back to Manitoba. To the house I had bought in 1993. I began the long task of finding my self musically. As well as 7yrs of court with my daughters mother. That financially destroyed any chance of doing anything until 2011.
2006 - On August 13th I opened Eden Myrrh's first band-site on Myspace. I was proud of it. I spent countless hours getting it right. people all over enjoyed songs, blogs etc. Until it got fucked over in July 2013. In the end, I was still happy that finally worldwide our music was being heard and enjoyed. The last count on the site was 78,509 hits.

My name is Nikko. It is my hope that you enjoy the story. Its 25yrs of travels and adventure. Something I hold dear to my heart. Enjoy!
1985-87 - I started playing Bass at age 15. It was a MANN Jazz I had bought at the pawn shop. I got a book and started learning Maiden tunes. Then on Oct 31st 1986 I bought my first guitar at Hi-Fi Express. Its a Metallic - Red Series A. I still have it. music was everything to me. All I thought about was... Someday....
1988 - Todd & I met on December 28-1987 at Hi-Fi Express in Williams lake, BC. When we first met, we were just learning how to play. Some of this was captured on TIMELESS. We had a lot of fun though. jamming & drinking 18yr old Whisky. Cruising around in my car. Living off 7-Eleven Burgers... remember those? Just being teenagers and enjoying our fuckin youth! In mid Jan we went on a trip to Prince George. Met up with Katya and hung out for the weekend. During this time we wrote our first 3 songs. They were 'Marching Out, Valiant & Odyssey'. During this time Todd had begun showing signs of Schizophrenia. We talked about what he was feeling. Neither one of us knew what he was dealing with. Then in April Todd left for the coast. He had gone to Vancouver to get help. I didn't see him again till July 1989. So I just kept playing on my own.
1989 - I began learning more cover songs. I moved from Prince George, BC to Winnipeg, MB in June. In July Todd came out. We jammed a lot. Met a lot of cool people. Really started focusing on what we would like to do musically. Still at this point we were learning, watching other bands play. Meeting new people in the club scene.
1990 - A year that could be best forgotten about. It was a struggle with work. Todd came out and visited shortly in the spring. I went to Baker lake NWT for work all summer. After I came home, I bought my Vantage and kept writing/practicing.
1991 - It started ok. I went back to Williams Lake to work with Todd on a job. The job fell through. You hear a lot of these times caught on audio in TIMELESS. In mid January we had decided on a name and EDEN MYRRH was born. So we packed up and went back to Winnipeg. We got ourselves a place at 8 - 457 Young Street. We played a lot of guitar. Drinking our Extra Old Stock, weed & pepperonis. We bought pedals, 4-track etc. In April we recorded the E.P. Released on cassette May 6. We began working with a drummer. However after awhile the dedication from him just wasn't there. By July we had moved to the Unicity area. Todd wanted to head back to BC. We had started recording E.P. II. He had helped with the first few tracks. Then left in August. Not on bad terms. I finished the recording. Releasing E.P. II on cassette October 31st. The next week I was working in Rude n' Nasty. A cover band. This is where I met Brad. We had a lot of fun. We basically lived in the clubs...It was awesome.
1992 - My daughter was born and I was writing a lot of songs. Todd came out in June and we left on a plane for Toronto. From there we hung out in Kingston, Cornwall, Brockville. During our time in Cornwall we had started writing a concept story called 'Welcome to Reality'. We were staying in the same hotel as Lee Aarons band. Had some good laughs with those guys. Todd wasn't feeling well and decided to head back to BC. I continued on to Windsor, where I began working with other musicians. Met a lot of friends till today. I remained there till May of next year. What a great time!
1993 - I left Windsor in May. I moved with my work to Hamilton. That's where I had begun work on the Instrumental art work. Todd was eager to get out and begin recording. He was still in BC. When we got together at my house in July. We both had a ton of ideas. So off we went on the Vestax 4-track machine. It was fun. We were so focused. After 3 weeks the self-titled EDEN MYRRH was done. Released on cassette August 13th. We recorded the skit and rehearsed for a week. Then off to Ottawa.

This will wrap up 25yrs of writing from 1988 - 2013. All the Best! Nikko
Well, what can I say. I'm really feeling glad, accomplished, and excited today. Its been along hard road since 2002. I've wished that the music & this set could have been released 3-4yrs ago. Now looking back, it just wasn't the right time. Too many things needed to be cleared-up personally. So here we are today. So many things lining up in a positive light. Its a feeling hard to describe. All I know is that its going to stay that way. Heres a rundown on the meaning of 'Timeless'.
Todd & myself put the audio together in 2000. At the time we made 2 copies of double cassette masters. The idea was to release 'Timeless' as a rare (Behind the music for decade) cd for collector fans. Most people buy the studio music, however devout fans sometimes want that little more. We had decided that only 100 copies would be made. In 2002, we were starting to work on a web-site (assisted by my cuz) to help promote the band and recordings. Start searching out new members etc. Then as you know on Feb 9th - 2002 Todd passed away. So everything got put away and remained on hold till 2006. By this time I wanted some closure.
In 2008 I went & transferred the masters to cd. With too much still going on in my personal life , thats where it ended. Then in Jan 2011, with it being our 20th Anniversary. I went through 3cds and condensed them into 2. The original masters were alittle choppy. It just now flows more. Also it contains 3 more tracks not on the orginals. It includes our last jam in Nov of 2000. As well a conversation about Album covers in Oct 2001. The audio was cleaned-up alot. Then it was time for the artwork. That was something else. lol. Remember, I only know so much when it comes to computers. I knew what I wanted in my mind. Getting it right on the screen was something else. I re-did this 3 fucking times! lol. Finally I got it right. Man, what a brain-drain. At least now, I'm happy. I look at it and want to change nothing.
So to conclude my ramblings. As fans & friends I really hope you enjoy what we put together. You'll have some good laughs. Also on another note. The 4-cd set coming out will have B-Sides not on 'Timeless' and will be added to each cd according to their particular era. So this cd set & the studio music will truely be a set to their own. Is that cool or am I delusional...? lol.
Cheers to you all. Thanks for the support. Nikko
