Hello hello HELLO! I am pleased to announce that my new record 'It Starts Today' is OFFICIALLY available for sale on our main online store. I am so excited to finally be able to release the CD, as we have worked for months and months and months, fine tuning everything... it was WORTH IT! I love you all so so so much. I am going to save updates on life for next week's blog, because I want nothing to take away from the importance of this post! Please, let me know if you are planning to purchase a CD! Unfortunately, the CDs do not come signed, as they are prepackaged and sent from the printer's, but if you are dying for something signed, shoot me an email or Facebook message and I'll see what I can do! :D Again, the LINK to purchase the new records is http://cdsdirectmusic.com/store//catalog/product_info.php/it-starts-today-p-128 I would be honored if you would spread the word, tell your friends, tell your cousins, aunts, dogs, teachers, priests, UPS men... whomever you think will love the CD. You'll be the Prince and I'll be the Princess

Happy Monday! What an EVENTFUL week we have had in our world! From a Royal Wedding that touched the hearts of millions to a military movement that shocked and excited our nation to the beatification of Pope John Paul II, the world was shaken up this week in many ways. I am happy to have been around to experience all of it! I stayed up all night to watch the Royal Wedding (I have been in love with the royal family since I was very young, since Princess Diana died) and I jumped out of the shower in order to hear the news about our American victory. It was a great week to be a citizen of planet Earth! In Christine Marie-world, something pretty exciting happened this week as well! The team and I made the trek up to the CD production company to finalize the artwork and layout for the new EP and, well... WE FINISHED! Aside from printing and reproduction (which is happening right now), everything is complete and it will be ready for release in about two weeks. YEEEEEEHAWWWW! I am so excited to show you what the CD looks like! Then... it will be for sale on many online stores so GET READY! :) I am honored to announce that I will be singing at a Memorial Day celebration on May 30. I will be singing the National Anthem, one of my favorite songs in the ENTIRE world to sing. I am humbled to say that I will be able to perform in front of one of my favorite congressman, Congressman Duncan D. Hunter, and Admiral Len Hering. I had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Hunter's staff when I was in Washington D.C. a couple of summers ago, but Mr. Hunter was on holiday so I was not able to meet him. I am excited to be able to meet him finally and sing for him and the Admiral. That is all for this week - I have a few exciting announcements coming up in the next couple of weeks, so keep your ears and eyes open, but for now, I think it is time to call it a night! I headed back to school today, but I am in my last month of high school which is SO weird/exciting/scary/fantastic/etc. I'll check in with y'all next week. :) Thanks for always keepin' up with me! :) Love CM!

New Song Released!

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE! This is my second Monday of Spring Break (boo!!), but I am enjoying relaxing, writing, and prepping for the CD release! WHICH... should be very soon. :) We have a final meeting with the CD manufacturers on Friday, so everything will be finalized and sent off to the printer's this weekend! I am not sure about the turn around time for the production, but it should be about a week or so. So, the new record will be on sale shortly! :) Last Monday, two emails were sent out... and I am not sorry!! HaHa! :) The second email you received (if you didn't... you are not on my email list! Go sign up!!) had a link to my new single 'Heartache Tonight' - yes, a cover of the rockin' Eagles' tune! I announced that the song was going to be on the record in last week's blog, but the release of the studio version of the song was a surprise! :) If you have yet to hear the song, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Click this link to hear it now! :) http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_8265621 When you go there, don't click on anything!! Just let the song play, because it will start automatically! Let me know what you think about the song on my website or on my Facebook page! (www.facebook.com/christinemariesings) We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback on the song, which is AMAZING to hear, so thank you SO SO much to everyone who has listened to and enjoyed it. It means so much not only to me, but to Ken, Becky, and Kanan Road, who sound KILLER on the backup vocals, do they not?! Thank you thank you thank you for listening, loving, and sharing. I cannot tell you how cool it is to see people post the link on their Facebooks, Twitters, Tumblrs, etc. Yay for Social Networking!! :) My friend Mary discovered this great new-ish artist, Hunter Hayes , who is opening for Taylor Swift on some of her tour dates this summer. He is GREAT - he is 19, sings like Gary from Rascal Flatts and plays all of the instruments on his single "Storm Warning" (which is so catchy, you will be singing it for DAYS!). He is really sweet too - he took the time to listen to my music when I sent it to him, which was so kind... but he is sweet to all of his fans, which is incredibly refreshing to see in a rising star! I highly suggest you go check him out (especially you ladies! He's a looker!). In other news, my favorite American Idol this year, Scotty McCreery, told one of his fans that he plans on going to Belmont University for college!! WOOHOO! How cool would that be to see him around campus?! I thought that was really exciting. All my Belmont friends and I were definitely excited to hear that! :) I don't have much else to say tonight! Next week, I will have a CD release date for you all! FINALLY!!! Have a fantastic rest of your week. I hope Easter was fantastic for everyone. It was a joyous day in our house, with family and friends gathered to celebrate the Risen Lord together! :) And... the Easter bunny visited and brought me purple Peeps! The. Best. Ever. I LOVE YOU! xo. CM

Are You Ready for My Secret Song?

HAPPY MONDAY! And Happy SPRING BREAK! I am so excited that I am on my break now. I get to relax and be productive in my career for two whole weeks! :) I had an incredible weekend that I am dying to share with y'al.. Saturday night was Kanan Road's Album Release Party for their new record 'Brothers'. Let me just tell you, this record is one of the best I have, and I own a lot of music. Kanan Road is an INCREDIBLE band. I know you have heard me talk about them more, but the two shows they shared with us on Saturday night were mind-blowing. The level of talent in those three boys is through the roof. I cannot say ENOUGH good things about them. They invited me onstage to sing our song together! It has always been referred to as the "secret song" on my website until, well... NOW! Here's the link to the video if you'd like to know what the song is! ;) Be forewarned, I whip my hair back and forth pretty intensely in this performance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyswYETTpvk&feature=player_embedded That was the MOST fun I have ever had on stage. There is nothing like singing in front of a live drumset, let me tell you. The beat PULSES through your entire body. I never want to perform without a full band ever again! Haha! :) We did that song at both shows, but I was also lucky enough to get to perform with my guitarist Nathan for the first time at both shows! We did two songs - "Heart Like Mine" and my favorite tune of all time - "Stand By Your Man". The video camera stopped recording during Stand By Your Man, which made me SO MAD, but we are planning to record a special cover of it just for YouTube in the next week or so. :) If you aren't subscribed to my YouTube channel, well... you should be! Click here to check out my channel. Click the little yellow button to subscribe! The Kanan Road Party was FULL of incredible performers. My good friend Hayley Stayner sang some of her originals and was incredible, LIKE ALWAYS! Please search for her on YouTube. She's unbelievable. The Brewer Boys were so amazing. Their harmonies and stage presence are just perfect! Jim VanNewKirk showed off his incredible songwriting skills and played my favorite of his songs - 'Black Smoke Rising' - which gave me chills! He is always so kind and does such a beautiful job performing. I met someone new at the show that night. Her name is Brooke Pernice. She is a 16 year old singer-songwriter and she LOVES old country just like I do! She has an amazing song about Waylon Jennings that just about made me cry. She plays the guitar beautifully and has a gorgeous, smooth voice. She has performed with Vince Gill and Darryl Worley. She was also born blind. Brooke and I had an amazing time together, talking about music and things we love. She has a HUGE heart and an enormous talent that is seriously going to take her big places. Being blind does not stop her; it simply allows her to see with her heart, something I truly admire. PLEASE check Brooke out at http://www.brookepernice.com/ and 'Like' her on Facebook. She blew me away Saturday night. All credit goes to Kanan Road, though, for putting on an amazing show. Like I said at the beginning, this was THEIR night and they rocked on every song they did. PLEASE go check them out at http://www.kananroadband.com . You will not regret it. ALSO, buy a copy of their new CD please!! You will LOVE IT so much!!! I am now going to enjoy the rest of my first day of Spring Break by writing the liner notes for my EP! We will be completely finished soon! Ahhhhh! I cannot wait to get this done! Thank you so much for always letting me express my excitement and gratitude through this weekly blog. I am honestly touched that anyone even takes the time out of their day to hear me rambling on and on about my life. I will do everything I can to make you proud because you come first in my mind and in my heart. I love you, whoever you are that is reading this. I really do. xo CM

A Country Girl Can Survive!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! :) I have been busy gearing up for Spring Break (which begins this Saturday!) this past week, so not too much happened! However, what I did do was very exciting! Saturday afternoon, I had my first rehearsal with my new guitarist Nathan. Let me just tell you, he is FANTASTIC. He is going to steal the show this Saturday, which you should definitely come to by the way! :) We had a lot of fun playing together. He brought a lot of ideas to the table and I am excited that we are a team now! :) Check out my website www.christinemariesings.com (My Blog) for a photo of me and Nathan rehearsing! This week, I am holding out strong in school, finishing this week on a good note so I can start Spring Break with no worries, and preparing for Saturday's shows with Kanan Road! I have been waiting for this show for awhile, so I am SO excited... it will be great to see The Brewer Boys, Hayley Stayner, and Jim VanNewKirk again... they are going to rock the house! ALSO, we are debuting the "secret song" this weekend, so if you want to hear it first before anyone else... COME TO THE SHOW! :D The EP will be sent off to the printers at the beginning of next week! I am excited to have this finished so I can get it into YOUR HANDS, where it belongs! I am really proud of the work the ENTIRE team has done (Ken, Becky, Cortnie, mom, dad, myself, the musicians in Nashville, etc.) so I am anxious to share it with you! :) I didn't say much about it, but I was in a music video contest on MusicLunge.com and... I WON! :) I didn't feel that pestering everyone again was the right decision, so I mentioned it once and you AMAZING people pulled through and allowed me to win! I have won free distribution on iTunes (for my music video) as well as a couple of other prizes. Thank you SO MUCH for helping me. I seriously have the greatest fans and friends in the entire WORLD. I love you. Now, I am prepping for AP tests which are in three weeks or so... once those are done, a HUGE weight will be lifted off of my shoulders! Graduation is in a little less than 2 months... I AM SO EXCITED and nervous and excited and everything!! How are you all doing? I hope everyone has had a great week. I am optimistic about the weeks ahead and will remain positive about the future... you should as well! :) I love you guys. xo CM

Listenin' to Old Alabama!

Happy Monday!!! I am WORN OUT after this weekend, so after this blog is done (it's 8:47 PM), I am heading to BED!! This weekend was SO much fun! It all started on Saturday morning, when I woke up way too early for a Saturday to head up to Anaheim to meet with some amazing people headed to Belmont in the fall! :) I FINALLY met my Belmont best friend Jenna, who I have been talking to for awhile now on Facebook! I also met my friends Michelle, Delaney, and Jennifer! :) Everyone was SO incredibly nice and I am 150 times MORE excited for Belmont now... which I did not think was possible. We all met up with our admissions counselor Mr. Waters, who was the kindest person I have ever met. I cannot wait to get to Nashville to start school with all of these amazing people. I love them already! Then, Saturday NIGHT, I watched the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards in order to watch my "big brother" James TOTALLY rock the house performing with his band Big Time Rush... it is amazing to see how far he has come. I try not to talk about him too much on this blog, but if you ever see his show, hear his song on the radio, or see his face on a cereal box (no, seriously... they are on cereal boxes now), think of me and send them love! He deserves all of the successes he is getting. I love him and could not be more proud! THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS were on last night!!! Although my favorite awards show is the CMA Awards, ANY country music awards show is WONDERFUL. All of the performers were SPOT ON last night, but my two favorites were Brad Paisley performing his new song "Old Alabama" WITH the REAL Alabama & Carrie Underwood singing with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith... hearing him sing "Undo It" was unexpected and AMAZING. He sounded great and Carrie's pink hair was so cute. I just love EVERYONE involved in country music. Every single individual there deserved to be there. Every nominee deserved to be nominated. Every winner DESERVED their award. I love country music. So, now, I head into another full week! Cortnie and I are THISCLOSE to finishing the album artwork! Everything is done except for my liner notes, which I am writing up this week! Then, it will be sent off and completed. Everything is so much more challenging without Ken and Becky around... I really loved their support and encouragement on a weekly basis! I miss you two! ll talk to you guys next week... if you watched the ACM Awards - what was your favorite moment of the night? Let me know in the comments below...and tell a friend about me! :D I love you! xo. CM

You've Come To Tell Me Something....

Well well well... let's just pretend it's a Monday, shall we? :) Yesterday, time slipped away from me as I was working on the tons of homework I had... and then I had no more energy and passed out in my bed! Luckily I only have about two and a half more weeks of school before SPRING BREAK!!! Then I can relax for two weeks. How NICE! The Songwriter Showcase last Saturday was so much fun! I had a great time performing with Jim VanNewKirk and Eileen Carey! Because there were less performers than anticipated, I ended up doing an on-the-spot six-song set. Woooweee! I had a blast. I performed two brand new songs from the new record and covered two of my favorite songs! One cover I did was of the song 'Price Tag' by UK Pop singer Jessie J, one of my FAAAAVORITE songs right now. Country-fying songs is always fun! :) I also covered another Loretta Lynn song! She is the queen, ladies and gentlemen. I would sing her songs all the time if I could! Here's a link to a video of that performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQX2Lg5rALs Cortnie Dee of Cortnie Dee Photography and I have been working diligently on the album artwork! All of the photos have been selected and we are still determining the perfect font to be used. I believe that will be finished this weekend, and then the entire package will be sent off to the printer... and then... we'll be FINISHED! I cannot wait, truly! Thank you Cortnie for all of your help. :) This Saturday, I'm heading up to Anaheim to meet with some Belmont friends, including my good friend Jenna! We're going to meet for the first time with our counselor, so I am VERY excited to finally meet some college friends in person! I will video blog, so I will post that update next week... ON TIME! I hope everyone is having a great week! I am spending a lot of time looking at Nashville apartments... planning for the future is SO MUCH FUN! How is everyone this week? Also, have you been watching American Idol this year? My favorites are Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery... of course the two country ones. :) Who do you like? Let me know! Talk to you Monday! xo. CM

Forget About the Price Tag!

Hiiiii! :) It's a very windy and rainy day here in Southern California and the MASTER for my CD has arrived!! Thank you SO much to KEN for sending it... now we can put the finishing touches on the artwork and send it off to the printer. This record is so CLOSE to being finished. I am getting very antsy to release it. I am really excited to introduce all of you to the newest addition to the CM Team! I have recently teamed up with an amazing guitarist named Nathan. He's my age - planning on attending SDSU next year - and will be making his CM debut at the Kanan Road show on April 16th! :) I am so excited to be able to play with him. I can't wait to show you guys what we can do! If you come out to one of the Kanan Road shows, you will get to see us in action! Woohoo! Last week, if you received the weekly email, you may have noticed Links to my new 'Store'. While the cafepress.com store is still in action, the designs in my ReverbNation store are much more up-to-date. The store will be easier for you to manage as well. Take a look now if you want to check out the merch! :) http://www.reverbnation.com/store/index/artist_917856 I've been writing a lot, which is always refreshing. :) Hopefully I will be able to debut one of these THIS SATURDAY (hehe) at Songwriter Night at The Merc! I'm planning a really neat cover for that show as well. :) Also, I'd love to extend a big congrats to Ken (in Nashvegas) who just signed his first Nashville client! I knew I'd bring him over to our side... muahaha! :) Congrats, Ken! I want to extend a HUGE congratulations to all of my friends who competed in Tennessee this past week or so. You all know Hayley, and she brought home NUMEROUS top awards! :) Brianna Parish, who sings with The Ranch Rockers at The Merc also was a big winner, as well as MANY other people from the WCCMA! :) Congrats, everyone! Also, congrats to Ms. Jackie Foster, one of my amazing backup vocalists, for getting a major scholarship for the Berklee College of Music Summer Program. You go, girl! :) So, not too much is going on that I can share (yet), but I think about you always and love you dearly. Be sure to check me out on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/christinemariesings ) , become a fan on ReverbNation ( http://www.reverbnation.com/christinemarie ), and send my site on to anyone you think would appreciate it. :) Have a great week! Yeehaw! xo CM
