Hey friends, fans, musicians, and fellow humans alike, Chris here again. So much has come and gone since our last update in March. We have played some pretty cool shows, gained some fans, and the album has been out there for a bit. There are a few things we have out now that you should check out if you haven't yet. For one, we did a podcast interview a short while ago that went pretty well. ( http://fromthezoo.com/5-minutez-of-fame/the-coming-dawn/ ) In addition, we have finally put up some live videos on our Youtube channel. Feel free to check those out if you have not seen us live yet, or need a refresher on what we do. Plenty more live vids on the way, hopefully from the Powerman show.
Speaking of Powerman 5000, we are getting very close to the time for that show. If you have not purchased your tickets yet, you should do so now to make sure you can. We would love to see our fans sporting some of our lovely T-Shirts in the audience. Also, if you haven't bought a CD of ours yet, we would love it if you would. There is no shame here. We are proud of our music and we need your support to keep making our music. As always, if you like us, please support local music. Buying a CD or T-Shirt, or even just showing up to a show, makes a world of difference.
That said, we are happy with how far we have come in the past 1.5 years, but there is still quite a large mountain to climb. We have high hopes and aspirations for the end of this year and the beginning of next year. For one, we are looking to expand our live shows to a certain radius outside of Charlotte. This will include, but is not limited to Raleigh, Spartanburg, Greenville, Lancaster, Columbia, Winston-Salem, and Ashville. We hope to see you all out there. Remember to get in touch with us. We love hearing from you!
Hey gang, Chris from TCD here again. I cannot tell you how excited I am about a great many things going on within and for the band. Before we get into that, let's review. 6 months ago, we were relatively unknown, had no album, only a small core of die hard fans, and really didn't stand out in any viable way, outside of having some good songs. What a difference a little time and a lot of effort makes, yeah? Pooling our talents, resources, and unity of musical vision, I think we have made a huge leap in a short period of time. I think the major reason for this is that we are growing the band [and business] logically, step by step, and of course, you the fans. You guys [and gals] have spread the word faster and more effectively than we could have ever imagined, and we are humbled by you.
That said, here is what is going on now, and some things that are developing. Right now, we are really hoping to get a spot through the battle of the bands, so please be sure to vote if you haven't. Tell everyone you can! We are also looking into several local and regional festivals. Right now, I think the crown jewels in out crown are things that have recently come to pass. Firstly, the album is finally done and if I say so, sounds and looks magnificent. A great deal of hard work was put into the album by everyone except me. [I tracked drums for a couple of takes and thought I was doing something. Silly me.]
Seriously, so much time and effort was put in to get these albums ready by the CD Release show. Legalities, printing, duplication, and all of the mixing, tracking, editing, and other boring studio things that so many people don't realize take up so much time and energy to finally deliver the final product. In that regard, Matt, Jesse, and Bryan are the real heroes in this album. I just tagged along, but I will do better next time, scouts honor.
More big things that went down are of course the CD Release show itself. It was our first headlining show, our first time at the Chop Shop in Noda, and our first time selling merch [both CD's and T-Shirts]. It was a huge success for a Thurs night right before a holiday, and we thank all the bands and fans that showed up. Huge show of support. Then, just yesterday, we had the Loud-Stuff.com review drop a freight train on us [visit http://www.loud-stuff.com/the-coming-dawn.html to read the full review]. 2012 has been a very productive year for us, and we have so much more in mind.
For starters, we will be reuniting with out Canadian pals Rosedale when they come through the Carolinas for at least one show, possibly several shows. We are also hoping to jam with Florida based badass rockers Traverser at a show in Rock Hill. On the web front, we have a photoshoot coming up. We are also looking into getting some videos onto our Youtube page to give you not only live tunes, but also some behind the scenes stuff. We really want to get immersed in the technology and share our passion and music with all of you. Thanks for all of the support guys/gals and remember to support local music! Buy a T-Shirt and CD and get to a show soon!
Hey gang, Chris from TCD here. We appreciate each and every one of you that have been with us since the beginning. I am semi-new to the band (drummer for those just tuning in) and I am more than stoked about the band. We have all come together to really get this thing moving and the music coming out of us as a collective is some of the best that I have been a part of. If you don't know me, I used to play for several pretty cool bands (in my biased opinion.) Stone Lucy, Blue Static, Infidel, and two very brief stints with Interstellar Overdrive and Tattermask, just to name a few. That said, we are really starting to push forward with new music, an enhanced stage show, and really taking out all the stops live to give you our best, and we are really hoping to see you guys. We would also really like to hear from you all. What you like, don't like, what you want for x-mas, what you would like to hear, ideas, questions, comments, anything at all. I am really trying to establish communication, so talk to us! Please? Stay tuned folks, we are crossing the streams.
