Playing the Game is the title track from Topper's Album project of the same name. The song is a vocal duet between Topper lead vocalists, Pete George and Billy J Morris.
Guitarist/vocalist, David Rodé, Pete and Billy J have been collaborating with producer/engineer, Dexter Mathis at his recording studio, D & D Recording Studio in Shreveport, LA on the project since late 2012. A true work in progress!!
The music video was conceived by director, James Sturgeon and 'brainstormed' together with Topper & six time Emmy winning videographer, Brian Kast during the first quarter of 2014. The video shoot took place April, 16-19, 2014 at locations in Blue Ridge, Mineral Bluff and Ellijay, Georgia, with cooperation and support from officials in these beautiful North GA mountain cities and counties. The music video was officially released, July 4th, 2014 during a free concert at Sturgeon's Amphitheater in Gilmer County, GA, starring Topper, featuring standup comic, Darryl Rhoades and female country rock band, Mustang Sally.
Topper is very proud of the song & video which represents some of the finest work in the band's 37 year history; A horn driven, rocking, soulful duet between two world class vocalists, featuring a great guitar solo, that brings to mind classic vocal duos like Sam & Dave, The Righteous Brothers, Hall & Oates, etc.

To avoid confusion.I want to clarify that 'Voices Of Rock' is the Classic Rock tribute show presented by the Atlanta based band Topper. When you see promo or communications from 'Voices Of Rock' or Topper-Voices Of Rock, just realize that Topper is the band!! Topper is a multi format group that can present dance/variety with an incredible repertoire of cover music: All decades,pop,rock,r&b,soul,funk,country,blues,reggae,etc.) A concert of Topper's original rock material, and of course,the show,'VOICES OF ROCK' which contains over 10 segments of music from some of the biggest supergroups in Rock & Roll history (Journey, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, U2, Doobie Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, Foreigner, Bad Company, Santana, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones,etc.), as well as the band's original material,which fit in seamlessly with these rock classics!! Topper is prepared to perform at virtually any type of event of venue with mind blowing results!!

Guitarist,Vocalist, David Rodé and Singer,Keyboardist, Pete George have been mainstays of the Atlanta,GA based band, Topper for over twenty-five years. David's signature screaming blues oriented guitar solos and Pete's world class,five octave range vocals have always been focal points of Topper's legendary sound.
The two veteran musicians have been songwriting partners since the beginning of their long collaboration. Pete and David can also present an acoustic duo, featuring their original compositions, Blues, Roots, Pop, Rock and Country material. The duo doesn't rely on backing tracks,
sequencing or any type of 'canned' accompaniment. David uses two acoustic guitars (6 & 12 string) and a Roland virtual guitar and synthesizer set up, giving him the ability to call up strings, banjos, fiddles and ambient background sounds. Pete plays keyboards, giving 'Voices' a full, intimate sound canvas. Their tight, two part vocal harmonies are the direct result of singing together in Topper, always a vocally, harmonic group, for so many years!
