***SONG MEANINGS 2***

(Continued from "SONG MEANINGS")

UnSunny In a Sunny Place ...I wrote this song shortly after my Grandmother passed away. It was a very sad time in my life. I also thought it was interesting since I live in Arizona, where it is always sunny and warm and paradise-like that that does not necessarily mean that I would be happy and in a good mood all the time.

Home ...This song is about escape, dreams, and imagination. Using your imagination (close your eyes) to visualize the person you want to be, and how that tends to be the greatest place for us, in our minds.

What Living is For ...This song is a quiet meditation to myself. An apology for ever being so hard on myself. It is best to listen to this in a quiet spot with headphones.

Come To Me (Right Me) ...This song is about the songwriting/artistic process. Every song I write is something I work on for a while until suddenly it all just "comes to me", lyrics falling on my paper like rain.

ThreeWords ...This is a love song about the first time someone you love tells you that they love you. The wonderful, magical feeling of being in love. I hope it sounds cheesy, as that was my intention.

***SONG MEANINGS***

This blog is all about each song I have posted up here, the story behind each song I have written... Feel free to tell me any thoughts/feedback you may have about my music, a particular song, etc...

My Mind is Made Up (recording features Martin Sugg on lead guitar and Internal Spark on bass) ...This song has many meanings throughout, pretty much each lyric is about something (or someone) that was in my life at the time I wrote it. It was mostly that I liked the chords and the rhythm.

Cigarette (recording features Martin Sugg on lead guitar and Internal Spark on bass) ...This song is about bad habits/addiction. It is not intended to be taken literally (I have never been a smoker), but I used cigarettes as the metaphor, as I wanted to use an example of bad habits with something that is ugly and difficult to give up.

I Give Myself (recording features Martin Sugg on lead guitar and Internal Spark on bass) ...This is a "love song" I wrote for my guitar and love of music. I struggle a lot with passion verses work, meaning I do not like working a job because it takes away time from my music. The line "I give myself and then go numb" means I go numb while at work because I am giving my whole being to music, my passion.
