What goes into a single hand clap?

For the single hand clap in the middle of Brooklyn Black Frame Seven, NWSPR used two snare tracks and 2 independently played clap tracks from their vintage Roland TR-505 and 606 drum machines. The snares have different reverb settings for a snap from a vintage Lexicon gated reverb to a large hall that provided secondary sustain. The EQ settings adjusted for each of the 4 tracks with all live played so the timing is slightly off to provide a natural feel.

Want to hear the clap, check out the video and it's easy to see the spot where the animated robots pause and then clap. Sounds strange but you'll find the spot. Check out the video on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N09pSoy8xaw

First Video Cut for Brooklyn Black Frame Seven

NWSPR just completed the first cut on the short animated feature for Brooklyn Black Frame Seven. The video features a full song 3D rendering created in Fractal Poster on a digital sound stage. By completing the animation as one pass at a full song, I had the ability to go back and get any camera angles I wanted and edit scenes together. This is a different approach from previous videos that were animated scene by scene. So I guess you could think of this as a live set for as live as little sequenced animated dudes can get. Looking for synth player in Brooklyn

Hey, looking for minimally motivated synth player to join under achieving New Wave band in NYC area. Twist some nobs, press some keys, drink some beers, modulate some square waves, play some shows, records some songs: loop \ Do you think you're really not sure you have what it takes? That's just the kind of low self esteem we're looking for. Join our support group / new wave band. Together, we can not figure it out together.

Interested parties should email robots@nwspr.com with your thoughts on the upcoming Star Wars movie and theories on faster than light speed travel.

A Thousand Years of Sunlight - New Music from NWSPR

NWSPR has a new 6 song EP available on iTunes and Band Camp. I'm excited about this project as it's a real shift to pure old school, analog electronic sound inspired by early synth pop pioneers like the Human League, Landscape and Brian Eno. I experimented with a stripped down sound using layers of analog monophonic synth to produce rich textures over a vintage Roland TR-505 drum machine. Please check it out... let me know what you think. Share it. Thanks! https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/nwspr/id540104014

Required Robot Reading - Elementary Particles

Came across this mind twisting review of elementary particles and fields on Quora. It focuses on the Higgs boson and field but has a nice, simple approach to understanding how these fields and particle interact. Article: http://www.quora.com/Standard-Model-of-Particle-Physics For extended understanding, refer to NWSPR songs Neutrino and Smash it Up. http://www.reverbnation.com/nwspr/song/10485726-neutrino

Mitt Robot returns to SuperPac Deathstar

Mitt Robot returns to his SuperPac Deathstar like a sad comet not to return for another four years. Like a political groundhog that saw the Koch brothers shadow, it was time to recede to the den. Who's next? Enjoy this political message approved by NWSPR. http://www.reverbnation.com/nwspr/song/22824611-mitt-robot

Female vocals needed for Human League cover

NWSPR is recording a cover of Open Your Heart originally by the Human Leagues off of their ground-breaking Dare album released in 1982. Rather than try and duplicate Phil Oakey's unique vocal (and fail), I thought to go in a different direction with female lead vocals. Here's a rough mix of the instrumental NWSPR version on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/nwspr/open-your-heart-human-league/s-dKP68 Please email me at robots@nwspr.com if interested or you know someone that would like to contribute on the track
