BAT ON FIRE to Debut New Single This Sunday on 89X
DETROIT, MI - 07/28/2011 – Hard-working rockers Bat On Fire will visit the studios of 89X (CIMX 88.7 FM Windsor/Detroit) this Sunday at 10:00 PM to be interviewed by Jay Hudson, and debut “There’s Nothing to Fear” from their upcoming full-length Jack The Ripper album, ...And Then Blood Everywhere. Host of 89X’s “The Homeboy Show” and 3-time winner of Real Detroit Weekly’s “Best Radio DJ” as voted by the listening public, Hudson was the first to play Bat On Fire on commercial radio in summer 2009. “We’re deeply honored to be given the opportunity to show the world our newest material on The Homeboy Show,” says BOF vocalist Karlos Kowaleski, adding, “Jay has supported our music from the beginning, and we are grateful for all he’s done to support [Bat On Fire] and the greater local music community."
“There’s Nothing to Fear” is told from the perspective of the London police investigating the murder of prostitute Mary Ann Nichols, a victim of the notorious serial killer Jack The Ripper. After the discovery of Nichols’ body, the press links her murder to two previous victims and panic grips the poverty-stricken streets of London’s Whitechapel district. The police cannot calm the fearful poor as they cry out: “Blood! Death! Hope! Dread!”
