-Damm, that's alot of songs! As you can see, we added some more covers into our list. "Scars" was the MVP out of those. We've got some more to add as well-just to make sure we can rotate stuff around. The main reason though, is for situations where we have to play the whole night ourselves. We want to make sure that we're ready.

-When looking at the pics, you might notice that I'm playing a different guitar. That strat actually belongs to Doc. My main red Ibanez had rusting problems w/ the floyd rose tremelo and I don't want that happening again. The Iceman I was using is cool, but I've had to play that Chinese song "Tu-ning" too much the last couple of shows. Course, this night, I guess the rest of my gear wanted to have the same attention. I had problems with my amp & pedals (more from the later) thruout the night. The neck of the strat was different, but I made due. Course, I broke a string on it towards the end of the 1st set. Luckily the "doctor" was in the house to get it in playing shape in no time.

-Overall, I think we did ok. Some of the newer songs probably could've used some more time in the oven, but we did ok with them. I don't believe we had anything really bad happen up there. We didn't have a big crowd this night, but what was lacking in numbers was more than made up by enthusiasm. I think this is the 1st time a mosh has started during "Far Away From Away." On the same song, unfortunately-at the end-my voice cracked like a whip. I already mentioned that "Scars" went over good-as did "Enter Sandman". Our stage volume was very loud though. Or I should at least say the drums & bass were-IMHO. If I moved over this "line" onstage, I was totally drown out. I'm so glad I have earplugs in. Maybe I'm just getting old.....

-I have to mention something you might find interesting. Last year, we weren't playing as many shows as we are now. There were a number of reasons for this such as availablity of all the members (at that time) to do multiple shows. We were also performing mostly original material-if not all originals-while wearing the leather and stuff. The thing is, where we play-CNY-is a place where the cover bands reign. And I understand why that is. For our style of music, originals are very hard to reach people. So that's when I came up with the idea of having almost 2 different bands going. The "A" shows are like before-where we do almost all, if not all, originals with the outfits and whatnot. The "B" shows are where we do 50/50 covers/originals and just wear normal clothing. And so far, things are working with it. Basically it's the "bring them in with covers & hook them w/ originals" approach. The clubs seem more receptive to us doing this and we need places to play so we're giving this a shot. Part of this too also involved some criticism that I was getting about the way I moved on stage and how that was "turning people off" to our music. Note-I'm not the only one this applied to-a number of others who do the same kind of moves get raged just as much, if not more, than me. So I thought I'd try toning it down alittle bit. I have to admit, it's easier to concentrate on playing/singing if you don't add jumping around in the mix. The tradeoff, IMHO, is when I watch a video playback. It's kinda boring to watch musicians stand like trees onstage. There has to be a happy medium in there somewhere. In addition, it's been mentioned several times that I shouldn't try to sing so high so, again, I gave it a shot-even with singing "Our Love is Wasted" an octave lower-just to hear what it would sound like.

-With some of our past shows, however, we've been told by the crowd to play more originals. This night, we had the "Sizzler" cry out for "Mine,Mine,Mine"-and I was encouraged by people in the crowd to move more-so I just did what I normally do. And it went over well. In fact, we had a few people jump up onstage-one to help me sing the chorus and a lady who was doing some dancing to it. For me, there are few things that can match seeing/hearing people being receptive to our original music. This was definately a highlight of the night for me. Course, certain people still have to learn how to start this song properly (HA!). And it was nice for us to get an encore at the end of the night as well.

-Another note, even though we do a number of KISS songs and we did a Tribute to KISS on Halloween, we are NOT a KISS Tribute band! One guy said that we were and was requesting us to do "Heaven's on Fire" We haven't touched that song since 10/31 so we didn't do it. However, when a lady asked us to do "Beth" I did a solo acappella version of it-but we're still not a KISS Tribute band. We can take requests-if we know the song.

-A little history here. One of the guys in the crowd tonight was DJJ-also known as J. Hatch. I was in a band w/ him back in the early 90's called FRONT ROW. We were a writing team back then-he'd come up with lyrics and I'd come up with the music. That's what happened with "Hard Life","Too Late", & "Mine,Mine,Mine".
Good to see you & the wife out J!

-I almost forgot to mention one thing-cause the tape on the camcorder ran out, unfortunately-that happened when we closed the 1st set w/ "Rock & Roll All Nite". The crowd here got up front and was singing the chorus with us. So I took my mic stand and swung it over to them so they could sing it. When it came back to me, the mic was off the stand and the 2nd verse was starting. So picture me onstage singing the 2nd verse, while trying to play the guitar part with one hand and putting the mic back in the holder with the other. Wish this was on tape! At one point, the mic stand was so low, I had to drop to one knee to sing-till the mic stand got adjusted (thanks Brian!).

-Btw, check out the pics below-one is from our show at The Checkpoint Tavern and the other is from tonight.
Could this be the new trend happening at CAROLINE BLUE shows? :)

Hi there!

-Here's a recap of our show last night at The Checkpoint Tavern in Cleveland,NY with special Guests Zadoc...& the Nightmare. Things went pretty smooth before setup. ZATN went on around 10:20-10:30 I believe. It was kinda funny-the sound guy did a soundcheck for them and then announced a 10 minute break before the show started! So after one song (the soundcheck) there was a break (HA!). I was actually using that line thruout the night.

-ZATN did a set of their original material and were-as always-very tight & sounding great. They also played some new material from a new CD they plan on recording soon. Good stuff! My favorite out of the new ones so far is "My Dead Eyes". Also very cool that the crowd here was into them and they got an encore. Looking forward to jamming w/ them again here on 12/13.

-CB hit the stage around 12:15 or so and we blasted thru our set-only threatening from time to time to take a 10 minute break :) Here's the setlist for this evening.

Dirty Deeds (Done with Sheep)-Bob Rivers/Dr.
Demento
Nothing Will Satisfy You
Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
Deny
Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
Love Me or Leave Me
Slave to the Hourglass
Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
I've Seen the Light Tonight
Pain
Detroit Rock City (KISS)
Stay
Wicked Game (Chris Issak/HIM)
Voodoo (Godsmack)
Out of My Life (I Want You)
For Whom the Bell Tolls (Metallica)
Locked & Loaded (Halford)
Wish (Nine Inch Nails)
Dead or Alive
Get the Fuck Out (Skid Row)

Encore 1-Breaking the Chains (Dokken)
Encore 2-God of Thunder w/ Zadoc on vocals (KISS)

-It's funny how-usually-the crowd thins out as the night goes on, but this night, it actually increased! We had some crazy people in the crowd-as you can see by the pics that are up (although not as crazy as Mr. Azriel-who we dedicated our 1st song to-HA!). And yes, you read that right, we got 2 encores this night. I think it's safe to say the MVP song of this night was Voodoo. CB last played that song back in, I think 2003. FWTBT ,by Metallica, was next on that list. By comparison, Paranoid & Locked & Loaded didn't get much of a reaction at all.The originals-overall-went over well and there were a number of times where originals were being called out for. That was great to hear. All in all, things went well. Personally, for me, I wish there were more lights (I had a hard time seeing ) but you make due. Also had some horrible tuning problems w/ my guitar at times-they will be fixed. We had a few "I'll see you at the end of the song" moments, but overall I think we did well. Got to sing "Happy Birthday" again :) One downer was my camcorder was set on SP instead of LP so I only recorded the 1st hour.
That won't happen again!

- For all of us at CB, I want to thank Ria, Joell & Ray Ray (as well as all the others) who took pics this night. Thanks to John the soundguy for doing a good job & the Checkpoint Tavern for having us here. Special thanks to Zadoc... & the Nightmare for playing with us. Most of all, thanks to everyone who came out and shared the night with us. It's deeply appreciated.

-We have a break from the shows this coming week and then we're back at Schultzies for our very 1st CB only (no opening act) show on 11/28. Please join us! Btw-for those of you who love to collect buttons, come to the shows and get some FREE CB ones! We have a set of 5 different ones and if you collect all 5 & wear them to a show, you'll get a special gift from us.
Keep rockin people!

Hi Everyone!

-Here's a recap of what happened last Saturday night. We played at The Half Penny Pub in Syracuse,NY w/ Special Guests Lovebone. The night started off kinda unexpected. Both bands arrived at The Pub around 8-8:30 (I was the last to arrive-what a surprise there right?-HA!). Turns out the bar-while open inside-was locked! There was a sex toy party going on inside and we had to wait till they were done before we could get in.
I guess I missed something kinda funny before hand, but I'll let The Andy Man fill you in on that one-he tells it better than me anyways :)

-We got in around 8:45 I think. Then we got everything set up and got Lovebone ready to play. Both bands got a decent turnout this night. Lovebone put out a great set which was a combination of cover tunes & their own originals.
Lovebone brings their own custom made mic stands when they perform and when they left it was like "where did the mic stands go?" :) Great job guys!

-Then we hit the stage. Here's our setlist for this night....

SET 1

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (AC/DC)
Love Me or Leave Me
Love Gun (KISS)
Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
Deny
Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
Pain
Talk Dirty to Me (Poison)
Slave to the Hourglass
Detroit Rock City (KISS)
I've Seen the Light Tonight
Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
Mine,Mine,Mine
For Whom The Bell Tolls (Metallica)
She (KISS)
Nothing Will Satisfy You
You Spin Me Round (Dead or Alive/Dope)
Hard Life

SET 2

Dead or Alive
Won't Be Home Tonight
Out of My Life (I Want You)
Locked & Loaded (Halford)
Breaking the Chains (Dokken)
Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)

-I want to start off by saying that I-as well as the rest of the band-were impressed w/ the Half Penny in-house PA/lights system. It's come a long way. We had no problems hearing ourselves and-looking at the playback footage-it's like we're not playing at the same place.
Kudos to Chris & everyone at The Half Penny for the extension of the stage & heighten quality of the lights/PA!

-We had a cover oriented crowd this night. Some of our originals (i.e. "Love Me or Leave Me", "Deny" and more....) went over great and others didn't. "Love Gun" actually wasn't in our setlist this night, but it was being called out by the crowd right from the start so we did it for them. Actually, KISS was a very popular group to play here this night. Maybe we should do our Tribute to KISS show here next Halloween :) Other songs were called out too and we even jammed alittle on a few (i.e."Psycho Circus" by KISS). We couldn't do the requests for Danzig & Dio cause we don't known any-at least not yet. ;) Course, Andy started playing "Breaking the Chains" by Dokken and the people there were reacting to it so we gave it a shot. It wasn't exactly stage ready (this lineup has only played it one time at rehearsal), but we gave it a shot and it wasn't that bad. Maybe we'll have that one (and a few others) ready for the next show.

-We had a number of birthdays this night-including (afer midnight) our drummer Joe Boyle. We all sang Happy Birthday to him,a guy named Dave and a girl named Gina (in a way I'm sure she'll remember for awhile :) ). Our set overall was good,-alittle loose-but not too bad. On my part, I botched a solo that I never should have, but I normally nail it so.....One funny thing was when we were performing "Out of My Life (I Want You)" ...I guess the little bit of "cookie monster" vocal I put in the chorus was alittle too much for some people cause some woman was trying to close the door that was between the playing area & the bar. The bouncer-Troy-wouldn't have any of that though. I thought it was funny to see. In regards to covers-the most popular seemed to be "Love Gun", "Sex Type Thing" & "For Whom The Bell Tolls." With the Metallica tune, it was like our crowd multiplied by 5! Our plan of doing 50/50 covers/originals is going well and other aspects of that plan will soon be taking place. A number of people left w/ CAROLINE BLUE CDs. Evan-the Sound Guy here-told us we had a good variety of songs and that, IHHO, he thought our originals sounded better than our covers! That's always nice to hear.

-We also started a new thing this night. This was an idea from the Andy Man" and here's a little excerpt about that from him....

"announcing the all new caroline blue pin back button collection!! there are five buttons in this collectable series and here's your chance to get them... FREE!! FREE!! FREE!! ...that's right, i said free.

mention you saw this announcement or rsvp us and you will recieve button 1 at our next show. wear the button to the show after that and you will get button 2 for free as well... wear both buttons to the show after that and you will get button 3 free. wear three buttons to the show after that and get button 4 free. wear all four buttons to the show after that... and you will get the fifth and final button in the series, free... be the first to collect all five!!

...did i say you can get all 5 buttons for free?

those who wear all 5 buttons by the end of the year will also get a special suprise gift, from WWJ.... no! it's not sex! but if i told you now it wouldn't be a suprise!"

-We almost ran out of the buttons we came here with! All in all, a fun night. I want to thank everyone who works for The Half Penny Pub for making this an easy night for us-as well as the opportunity to play. Also big thanks to Lovebone for putting on a great set. And, last-but definately not least-thanks to all the great people who showed up to see us play.
It's so deeply appreciated!

-Next stop-The Checkpoint Tavern in Cleveland,NY on 11/15 w/ Special Guests Zadoc...& the Nightmare.
Hope to see you all there!

CAROLINE BLUE  (over 14 years ago)

Hey everyone!

-Here's the recap of our crazy Halloween night at Schulzties in Phoenix,NY. This night, CAROLINE BLUE decided to do a Tribute to KISS. We did a set of KISS songs-save for one CAROLINE BLUE original-while wearing KISS Makeup. Now, in the past when the band has done this, I've gone with a full costume and platform boots. Since the other guys didn't have costumes, we decided to just wear the makeup and KISS T-Shirts.

-We were opening up for Bad Alice this night. I got there alittle late-it took me longer to get the makeup on and I wasn't able to get out of work early so I did the best that I could. I guess there was a little heated discussion regarding space on stage, beofre I got there, but it was all evened out and the show went on.

-Here's our setlist for this night...

-Creatures of The Night
-Strutter
-Tears Are Falling
-She
-Heaven's on Fire
-All American man
-Love Gun
-Cold Gin
-God of Thunder
-Love Me or Leave Me (CAROLINE BLUE)
-Rock & Roll All Nite
-Detroit Rock City

-Overall, I think we did pretty good this night. 1st of all, none of our makeup made impressions of the incrediblle melting man so that was good. :) And I wasn't wearing platforms so I didn't have to worry about falling (my wig-on the other hand-was a different story-HA!). Some of the songs were alittle looser than others. "Heaven's on Fire" didn't come off too good and I take the blame on that one. I gave it a shot though-no guts no glory right? Course, having my guitar cord come out right at the beginning helped too :) "Creatures of the Night" was also alittle rough, but things started to get into gear with "Strutter." I think we did good on all the others.

-During 'God of Thunder" the Andy Man did some blood spitting. I have to say, with the pedals he has, he really got the sound of Gene's solo pretty good. Joe B. did a little drum solo during the same song. Joe was dressed as The Fox and did the name good. Andy sang on "God ot Thunder", "She", and "Cold Gin." I started singing "Rock & Roll All Nite" but had Robb from Bad Alice come up to take on those vocals. We had John Ferrara (The Aylist) filling the role of the Space Ace and he did a great job.Amazingly, this was the 1st night all 4 of us were in the same room.

-There was a good sized crowd here and we got a great response from them. I want to thank everyone at Bad Alice, Schultzies & Station Sound for having us here this night. I want to give a big thanks to John F. for playing with us-it was a blast! And yes John-you ARE the reason why women show up at Aylist shows! :) And I want to thank all the wonderful people who came out to check out 4 misfits in makeup (HA!). Pics should be up soon. I know Ray Ray was here and I can only imagine how many pics he got.
If anyone has pics from this night, let us know!

-One other thing I forgot to mention, CB is back at Schultzies on Friday 11/28 w/ Special Guests Zadoc...& The Nightmare.
Hope to see you all there!

-Next stop-The Half Penny Pub on Saturday the 8th in Syracuse,NY.
Special Guests-Lovebone!

CAROLINE BLUE
CAROLINE BLUE  (over 14 years ago)

Hey everyone,

-Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here's a recap of what happened w/ CAROLINE BLUE at our show on 10/25/08 @ Frank's Country Roadhouse in E. Syracuse,NY-our 1st time here.

-We arrived a few hours early and proceeded to get the gear unloaded & set up. Then we got to relax alittle bit before showtime. It was cool to see people here that I haven't seen in quite awhile.
Check out our FANS, FRIENDS & FREAKS Pics to see if you recognize any of them :)

-Before the show started, we received word about a few things. Frank's CR doesn't like the bands playing there to be too loud. We heard that the band that was here the night before received alot of flack for that and that this was one of the reasons they were told to stop playing around 1 AM.I didn't think that we'd have a problem with this, but as soon as we started sound checking, we were told to turn down. In fact, my guitar had to be mic'd up because of this. I didn't mind per say-but my guitar's stage volume was pretty low. John-the soundguy-did the best he could-and he did a good job. I could hear everything in the monitors. If I stepped away from them though, I could still hear my vocals, but my guitar was faint. In addition, there was only 1 light tree w/ 4 cans on it to light up the whole stage, but those things happen and we made due.

-Starting things off was The Pudge Band from Oneida,NY. They play in a Classic Rock style-and do all originals. Here's something else we found out after the night was done-Frank's CR prefers bands who play covers. Our music styles might be alittle too distant to work effectively on the same bill-but they did a good job. I have to admit, though, I was very surprised when they decided to take a break (?!)-and I wasn't the only one. I was told that was the old school way of doing it-a break every 10 songs. A modification of that is when you play for an hour, you play for 45 minutes & take a 15 minute break. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work any more-at least not in CNY. Many of the popular bands in CNY don't take breaks and people here are used to that. One of the most popular bands in CNY-One Hard Krank-will play 4 hours with no break. The problem is, breaks are usually a time when people leave the bar. This isn't always the case, but it does happen quite alot. We have to work on this ourselves. Again, at night's end, we were told that Frank's CR had a problem with both bands taking a break.I'm getting ahead of things here, but CB also took a break. In hindsight, I probably would've decided to go on as long as we could before taking a break.I've already discussed this with the rest of CB & it's something we're going to work on.

-Then CB hit the stage. Here's our setlist for the night...

Set 1
Dirty Deeds (Done With Sheep)-Dr.
Demento
Love Me or Leave Me
Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
Deny
Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
Pain
She (KISS)
Slave to the Hourglass
Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
Won't Be Home Tonight
Mine,Mine,Mine
Stay
Out of My Life (I Want You)
For Whom the Bell Tolls (Metallica)

Set 2
Too Late

-Overall, I have to say we weren't playing up to par this night. I made my share of mistakes- I messed up the lyrics to "Sex Type Thing" initially (sorry Alain!) and during "Mine,Mine,Mine" my voice cracked like a whip on the 2nd chorus. We usually do a cover/original/cover/original etc. format for our sets but we had to temporarily switch that for reasons I won't mention here (see "WAYNE-THE BOOK" for the real story-soon available where better books are sold-HA!). Given what I mentioned earlier about how we were told that Frank's CR preferred cover material, I'm sure you can imagine how that went over.....John the soundguy even mentioned that, during our set, he was trying to tell us to play more covers. I didn't hear him though so we did what we did. If I did, we would've played more. We still had a number of cover tunes to play-we actually have more covers than originals right now. But anyways...

-As I mentioned earlier, we took a short break around 1 AM. People did clear out when we did, but there were still people in the bar. We started the 2nd set-only to be told by Frank's CR that we were done. Regardless, we still played 1 song before ending it-hence why Set 2 only has 1 song listed.

-Then came the end of the night. This is where things got alittle heated. John the soundguy told me he's works here alot and knows the guys so he offered to get the money from our guarentee for us. Fair enough-espcecially in light of the problems that happened as well as being told the previous night the bar tried to short the band that played here. When he returned, we were told that Frank's CR shorted us $50 from our guarantee-and that they initially wanted to short us $150 of that. We were told about all the previously mentioned problems with the bands as well as a few more. One the one hand, we were told that he said that The Pudge Band carried us, cause there were more people here for them than for us. On the other hand, we were told that he said that The Pudge Band was driving people out of the bar and their break really had people leaving. We were also told that he said CB would never play at Frank's CR again. Considering all the flak & hassel that happened this night, it's just as well. Getting shorted on our guarantee sealed the fate of us ever playing there again anyways.Just another day in the music business....

-I want to thank Shelly for getting us this show, John for running sound, The Pudge Band for opening, Ria for taking pics and being our mobile CD shop :), and all the people who came out to see/support the bands. Special Thanks to Jason for being such a good sport in taking all those "sheep" shots (HA!).
Hey-at least you got a CD right? :)

-Next Stop-Halloween night (Friday 10/31) in Phoenix,NY. CAROLINE BLUE will be opening for Bad Alice @ Schultzies and performing a set of KISS songs and in KISS makeup.
Hope to see you there!

Hi Everyone!

-Here we are-CB's 1st trip to Buffalo,NY. We all got into Handy Andy's Handy Van at a pre-determined meeting point and off we were to Buffalo! It wasn't a bad ride at all. Course, I was in a front seat-Joe got to strecth out with the equiptment in the back, but because of the way the van was packed, he actually had more room than I did. Luckily, no one had a Taco Bell moment throut the trip.
:)

-A good friend of mine, Terri, had said she was going to see us play tonight-and she's from Syracuse. She actually caught up with us and, with me in tow, went continued on our way to Buffalo. She has one of those GPS things which makes travelling soooo much easier.

-So we arrive at Buffalo and make our way to Club W. For some reason, I feel kinda partial to Club W....I don't know why... :) This is a great place. Very spacious and a nice stage. I believe they even had a bathroom attendant there! There was a parking lot next to the club so that helped too. Kinda funny-the bartender that was there when we arrived told us we could park in a lot across the street and they didn't charge anything. He said you wouldn't get towed, but he did get his car ripped off there once. ....After we parked next to the club, we got our gear set up and prepared for the assault.

-The show, overall, went well. It could've been tighter IMHO, but we did good. There weren't alot of people here-turns out, when we left, a few blocks down where the dance clubs were, there were people in lines outside the clubs there. A few people did get some CDs from us and these 2 women came up to us early in the set with shots & beer-a nice welcome! Just to let all you long time readers know-I still don't drink alcohol so no, I didn't drink the beer or the shot. I know someone who enjoyed it though. We played for about an hour of all originals-save a KISS tune for the guy who booked us here. The setlist was as follows...

-Too Late
-Hard Life
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Dead or Alive
-I've Seen the Light Tonight
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-Love Gun (KISS)
-Pain
-Deny
-Love Me or Leave Me

-Afterwards, since we had some extra tape, we did some post show interviews and stuff. Me & Terri hung out for alittle bit while Andy & Joe hit the highway. We couldn't stay too long so we only caught a few songs from the other band on the bill-The Begger's Best-but they sounded pretty good. It's too bad more people weren't here tonight but those things happen. We still got to perform and had a good time.

-Me & terri left Buffalo around 12-12:30 and I promptly fell asleep for most of the ride back! What a great guy I am huh? :) Terri took literally hundreds of pics so once we get them them we'll be posting them up. I took a quick look at most of them and there are quite a number of really great pics on here. Course, I'd expect nothing less from Terri. She's been taking pics of me in bands that I've been in since 1991 (!!). I was alot thinner back then-and had waaayyy more hair (HA!).

-Thanks for everyone who managed to make it out to the show this night. nThanks to Susie the bartender (hope my announcements got you some tips) and Alex the bathroom attendant (hope you like the CD). Thanks to those 2 girls who got us drinks-one of them got a CD too (for most our our shows, we give away a FREE CD within the 1st couple of songs in our set). I did notice that they had their eyes on Andy & Joe most of the night (Ha-Cha!). Thanks to Buffalo Joe for getting us the gig here-looking forward to playing here again in december. Thanks to Club W for having us here and for the great name :) and also thanks to the Beggar's Best for not minding that we went on 1st. And, of course, thanks to all of YOU out there for your continued support.

-We have a few weeks off and then we're doing a show in Phoenix-a 1 hour Tribute to KISS on 10/31 in Phoenix,NY @ Schultzies. Just gotta remember how to put on the makeup again....

-Hey everyone! We just had a wild night over at Schultzies! Here's the recap of what happened.

-We got into Phoenix by around 7-8 ish and got settled in. The Artists Former Known as Round 3 (now known as Defect) got there the same I did. I have to say-our 2 bands had a very Interesting conversation before the show (HINT-the subject was mainly about "bags of tea"-HA!). They went on at 10 and played an hour of covers from bands like Alice in Chains, Tom Petty, Neil Young, 7 Mary 3 and more. They did a good job-especially given a very recent lineup change. I have to admit I was looking forward to hearing your former singer sing, but I still enjoyed the show. Hopefully we can do some more shows together in the future.

-There was a decent turnout here tonight. Much more than the last time we were here. Then again, we'd just lost our bassist at the time and performed as a 2 piece and-since I did announce it via bullitins, email, etc. it's no surprise that alot of people weren't at that show. This show was the start of a number of type of shows we're planning on doing for awhile. Let me explain....

-CAROLINE BLUE is known primarily as an original band-and we're fine with that. However, in the CNY area (for our style of music), covers are the name of the game. So we've basically have 2 different shows now. The "A" Show is for ouf of CNY/out of state shows. These shows are like what we've been doing-majority if not all original material and with all the leather and stuff. The "B" show is more for CNY when we do headlining shows and even some of the openers-depending on who we play with. That show is 50/50 originals/covers and we're just in street clothes. So far, things seem to be working with this. There are times when things with the "B" show might change alittle bit-in fact, an example of that happened this night.

-We went on around 11:30 and played 2 sets until 2 AM. Admittedly the 1st one was longer than the 2nd. Here's the setlist...

SETLIST 1
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
-Deny
-Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
-Pain
-Talk Dirty to Me (Poison)
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Love Gun (KISS)
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-You Spin Me Round (Dope/Dead or Alive)
-Stay
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-The Queen of Pleasure
-For Whom the Bell Tolls (Metallica)

SETLIST 2
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Dead or Alive
-Tears Are Falling (KISS)
-Hard Life
-I've Seen the Light Tonight
-Far Away From Home
-Too Late

-I felt the show went good. A few mistakes here & there-but no train wrecks. Monitors were good for me and I was grateful there were front lights here. I was using my Iceman for the show-my main red Ibanez is being worked on. Hopefully it'll be back in action next week."The Queen of Pleasure" was actually in the 2nd set, but due to request, we played it where it's located on the 1st set. (Thanks Mr. Halen!).And, if you notice in the 2nd set, there's only 1 cover being played. So where's the 50/50 thing Wayno? :) Believe or or not, I did ask the crowd that was still there if they wanted us to play more covers or more originals. They overwhelming want to hear the originals-and we even sold some CDs this night. I have to admit, playing covers can be fun, but nothing beats playing your own material on a live stage-especially to a receptive audience.

To continue...

-Overall, we did a good job. We're getting tighter as a band and it's starting to show. We got some very nice compliments from the people who were there. More than one saying they couldn't believe how full we sounded for a 3 piece. Course, a good chunk of that credit goes to the CB rhythm section-Andy & Joe.

-We'd like to thank Defect for opening up for us this night-we really appreciate it. We'd also like to thank Russ (for the great job w/ the sound/lights) , Heather (for booking us there & helping to promote it) and for Pete (for putting up with us-HA!). Last, but definately not least, we wish to thank all the people who made the trek out to Schultzies this night. It's so deeply appreciated.

-Next stop-CB's 1st show in Buffalo,NY!
