8/5/09- CB.NET Interview with Joe & Doc

Satchel here-with another one of those spine tingling CB.NET Interviews! We've interviewed virtually every musician that has been in CAROLINE BLUE's ranks at one time or another and here we are again with the 2 "new" guys in CAROLINE BLUE-bassist Andy "Doc" Gore & drummer Joe Boyle. Sometimes the spotlight falls a little too much on Mr. Johnson so we thought we'd give some equal time to Joe & Doc! So grab some cheesy poofs & enjoy!

1)-Give us some background info about yourself-our readers want to get to know ya better!

Doc-Background info? as in... what's in my sordid past? Ok... I'll tell of one thing, how I came to be known as "DOC" (take notes there will be a test later): When I was 19 I was attending the University of Florida and was in a fraternity where my nickname was "Doctor Demento". They called me this because I was the only member to ever have his girlfriend living with him IN the frat house... and the walls were quite thin so one can imagine all the noises the other guys were subjected to. I'm not a real doctor but I DO own a doctor's bag.... oh, and I double as the band's medic.

Joe-I have been playing drums for 30-odd-years. Only owned a kit for a total of maybe two years of the 30. Spent most of my time learning songs by listening to them in my sleep, and air-jamming to them. When it came time to sit down to a kit I played it as I had the air-kit and low and behold it worked. I love the more clean metal music like; Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Helloween, and Savatage. I am also a published author of two books. Id Laberynth: Writings Mentallity Recovery (self-help), and The Secret of New York's Caves (Fantasy Fiction) I am single and believe in finding that one special someone; I may be a little to picky for my own good.

2)-How did you happen to join Caroline Blue? Had you heard/seen them before and, if so, what were your impressions?

Doc-At the time I was already in a band but it was in the process of breaking
up, Wayne sent me an email about possibly joining or filling in with CB
...a serrupticious cooincidence. I'd heard CB a couple of times both
at Nikstock and at Station 58. Impressions? at the Nikstock show I
remember telling the people in the band I was in at the time "these
guys rock, but I think they can improve things if they added a
guitarist or a singer so that guy (Wayne) doesn't have to work so
hard." --it WAS a blistering hot summer day-- I had also met Wayne
earlier that day and his comment to me was "I'm glad to see we're not
the only ones wearing leather today" ...I was wearing my leather pants
that day too. The other show I saw them at I remember telling Wayne
"I'm glad I'm not the only one wearing leather tonight."

Joe-Roy Coston; Formerly of LoveBone, Four Large Men, and Ardent in the early 80's remembered Caroline Blue was looking for a drummer when visiting once, after a call a couple e-mails, and a ton of learning their material, I was accepted as Caroline Blue's drummer.

3)-How would you rate past CAROLINE BLUE drummers/bassists?

Doc-Both times I saw CB Johnny Sniper was playing the bass, that's some big shoes to fill let me tell you!

Joe-Don't really know many of the former player, but have worked briefly with Johnny Sniper who was an outstanding bassist, Mike Merrifield, a past drummer I know by reputation and his work on past CD's is one of the more talented CNY drummers i have had the honor to learn from from those CD's

4)-What is the best & worst show you've played with CAROLINE BLUE to date?

Doc-The best show was a command performance at Boneshakers July 2009. The worst one, was at Frank's Country Bunker where they only play both kinds of music... country AND western.... only thing missing was a chicken wire enclosed stage.

Joe-To me our show's have been quite steady, I really don't think I can come up with a best or worst show. Our first show with the latest bassist, Andy Gore, at the DogHouse in Utica was rough but not too aweful bad. The show I enjoyed the most was going out of state to played Legends of Gales Ferry CT.

5)-This leads to the next question-what's your most embarrasing moment onstage with
CAROLINE BLUE? How about with other bands you've been in?

Doc-My most embarrassing moment with CB was at Franks. With other
bands? When I was in Savage Jack we had just gotten a new drummer and
drilled him for 21 days straight to play our next show... in practice
he was almost perfect but we didn't know he suffered from "stage
fright" and blew every song -- he tanked the gig... we were real
embarrassed and real pissed off too, fired him the next day.

Joe-Again I can't point to a specific embarrassing moment, but have had a few brain-farts; forgetting how a song began, or starting the wrong song. I'm not one to dwell on the negetivity of bad moment. I look more to what was done right not wrong.

6)-Before you guys were in the band, CAROLINE BLUE played mostly originals and
were never seen live without those leather pants on. Now the band is
playing alot of covers (hard rock/metal/modern rock) and just wearing
street clothes onstage (note-the band has recently brought the leather back). How do you feel about this change?

Doc-It's just how things are done in the band, I don't question it. I just play
what is put in front of me to play and give it 200 percent every time.
I know my girlfriend prefers the "leather wearing" shows though.

Joe-At this point in Caroline Blue's life, I think it was good to step back from the flamboyant stage style, and unfamiliar songs to the audience the whole night, to picking up a more metal style and feel we can portray with songs like Ace of Spades, Seek and Destroy, NIB. Taking this route has helped to take our originals, and take them from souding like pop metal to sounding like a full metal band. Just listening to the originals now as compared to how they sounded has been a great transformation. I feel we have gone from Poison-like to Metallica-like, and I believe that is a good thing. I have always thought that ability outweighs image by a long shot.

7)-We've been trying to find some dirt on WWJ for a long time-any stories you'd like to share?

Doc-Sorry, Wayne has beat you to this one by paying me off rather well for my silence.... but I can tell about the "leg humping" incident at Shamrocks if you can cough up some more money....

Joe-To tell the God's honest truth, I don't know of any dirt on Wayne. I have only known him for just short of a year, and haven't found any dirt on him yet. The closest I can come up with was once he said people thought he was gay because of his passive manorisms, and demeanor, but I've seen some of his girlfriends, and he is surley not a homo. lmao!!!!

8)-What would you like to personally accomplish in Caroline Blue?

Doc-I'd like to record and tour with CB.

Joe-I would like to just simply learn to be the best performer I can be. What I have learned in the past year is far more than anything I have done in the past. A little fame wouldn't hurt; I'll know that when a stranger on the streets approaches me and says "I've seen you before, You play drums for Caroline Blue." As soon as i hear that i'll know I have personally made it to the next stage of success.

9)-How far do you believe Caroline Blue can go?

Doc-As with anything in life, you go as far as you dare to and no farther. I
don't know about the other guys, but I'm pretty f*cking daring!

Joe-I really believe, with the current lineup we have what it takes to make it to the national stage and beyond. I look forward to my first studio appearance, and hopefully with 3 CD's out we will be picked up somewhere along the line. From what little i have known of Caroline Blue in the past the changes in the band has the ability to make it up there quite a ways.

10)-Any words you'd like to say to all of Caroline Blue's Fans, Firends & Freaks who are online reading this?

Doc-Yes, come to more shows! Wayne's been real busy booking so we're bound to
have one near to you soon enough. And thanks for being there for us,
it really means a lot!

Joe- I have never been much of a social butterfly, but it has been great to perform for you, and get to know you. I pray for your continued support, which without you wouldn't be possible. You in the audience make me feel that all the work I've done to get to where I am has been worthwhile. I have been humbled by these of you who say, "Damn, dude, you can play those drums." That is what i have worked my whole life for. It is you in the crowd that makes this whole venture worth

-Hey now! Finally got around to getting this thing done. This will be a long one-but considering that we ended up playing 2 shows in 1 day, it's only fitting. Let me warn you-this is a long one so....

-I only got 4-5 hours of sleep the night before. But we were all up and on the road by around 10 AM or so. Can't remember the exact time. Then we left towards Ogdensburg, making a stop at Doc's favorite place-Cracker Barrel-along the way. A bright, humid day. We arrived @ Boneshakers ealy-which was a good thing. We didn't have the same hotels as before. Those were like a few miles away. The ones we got were about 20 miles away. This was the 1st annual Boneshakers Bash. 4 bands playing on a stage outside-which was actually made from hay trucks. Cool-as long as none of us fell thru the stage, we're happy. We would be on 1st, then Sabbatical, Cain & last was Crazy Train-an Ozzy Tribute from Mass. Me & Doc went back to the room to get dressed up & cleaned up and we ended up being late to the stage. Not to mention the rooms all the bands got had no A/C! So we had to get new rooms. Scruffy gave us an extra 10 minutes though so that made up for it.

So we went on around 3:15 PM. here's the setlist...

-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)
-Bad Girlfriend (Theory of a Deadman)
-Sober (Tool)
-Man in the Box (Alice in Chains)
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-Pain
-She Hates Me (Puddle of Mudd)
-Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)
-Enter Sandman (Metallica)
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)

-So we played for an hour and 15-20 minutes. Not bad. Not a lot of people here at this point though, but we still soldiered on. Sound was great. I was basically looking at the setlist and chopping songs out-we were initially going to use last night's list w/ only a few omissions due to time constraints. Joe hates when I stray from the setlist, but you have to do what you have to do. It's always interesting to wear sunglasses while performing. You never know if they're gonna fly off your head or worse, fly off enough so they're still partially on your head. :)

-So we finished our set and received a good response from the people who were there. Then Greg, the owner came up to us. He'd told us for months how we'd be playing in front of a ton of people and I guess he felt bad over what happened-so he asked if we wanted to play inside after Crazy train was done. That would be around 10 PM-and going on till 2 AM. On top of that, the sound guys outside could not tear down & put back up their gear in time-and what was inside was a bare-bones system that's mainly used for kareoke type stuff. But we still had the offer-and we knew the chances were great that there would be a huge amount of people here by that time. So what did we say? Yes-of course!

-With help from Larry (Cain) & Art, the system inside became passible and all we had to do now was play. 1st off-shower time. Maybe it's cause I'm getting older, but you really appreciate a good shower when you can get it-especially after having show funk on you :)

-So after we got back, we checked out some of the other bands and started to get ready. My main concern was hoping that both my voice & my strings held out. I'd never sung that much in a 2 day period and I didn't have an extra packet of strings w/ me-I'd forgotten to bring them. I'll usually break a string within 3 to 4 times of performing. That 4-5 hours of sleep was catching up w/ me a little too.

-So then the moment arrived and we hit the stage! Here's the set lists....

SET 1

-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)

SET 2

-She Hates Me (Puddle of Mudd)
-Deny
-Enter Sandman (Metallica)
-Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)
-Out of My Life
-Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
-Bulls on Parade (Rage Against the Machine)
-Wish (Nine Inch Nails)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-Scars (Papa Roach)
-Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
-N.I.B. (Black Sabbath)
-Talk Dirty to Me (Poison)

-Careless Whisper (Seether/Wham)
-Mine, Mine,Mine
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)
-Bad Girlfriend (Theory of a Deadman)
-Sober (Tool)

-The place was filled with people and we had an awesome time. Check out some of the pics that are-there are some very wild & crazy people up in the North Country. Both my voice & my strings held up. I was burning onstage. My shirt was so wet that I could wring it and it was like I'd just dunked into a sink full of water. Don't even mention the leather pants. I think they fused with my legs (HA!). WE were all totally sweat drenched when we were done. I know at various points we all started to feel the gas tank go towards empty (so to speak), but I know when it happened to me. Just before "Seek & Destroy." It's like I hit this wave of heat and I was drained. Plus the neck of the guita-which was coated with sweat, dried a little so now it was a little sticky. But we kept going & got thru it.

-During the Sabbath songs, Doug-the singer for Crazy Train- was nearby so I calle dhim up and he sang thru those songs. That was a trip cause he didn't have the outfit on, but he was still moving & singing like Ozzy. We sold more shirts & CDs this night too. Scruffy told me the place was filled to capacity and, for the most part, we kept people up front and moving. That was awesome & I'm very proud of my guys for waht we did.

-After the show, when people were leaving, I felt like a wet rag. I just wanted to take another shower and go to bed. I even lost a few pounds in body weight from this show. I had to drive Mindy's car back but I entered the car wrong and my hip cramped up big time. Nice huh? I eventually got into car not made for 6'3" people :) We did stop off at a Nice & Easy to get some subs before heading back to the hotel. Joe decided to sleep in the car-he wanted to do it-while the rest of us took the room w/ 2 beds & a cot. I had 1st dibbs on the shower. Man, I felt like I was peeling off those leather pants. The guitar straps were STILL moist w/ sweat 4 days later! Then it was time to sleep. Course, one of us decided that this would be the night he'd start sawing some wood, but I still fell asleep quickly. By this time it was around 4 AM.

-Still was the 1st one up around 10-although I woke up a few times thruout the night. Usually we're on the road before 11, but this time it was just before noon. The trip back was fine w/ no mishaps. Course, whenever we play @ Boneshakers, we always stop at this Oriental Grocery Store in Watertown that Doc loves so he can get "some of the good stuff." And, of course, Joe has to buy some Kimchee-hence one of his nick names "Kimchee Joe." And-of course, Joe has to eat some on the ride back & we all know what Kimchee smells like right? Not what you want to smell when you in a container hours away from home. This time he was in Mindy's car so they had to deal with it. Me , Doc & Art were in the Van and after this stop I was in back w/ all the gear. I basically fell asleep off & on toill we reached our practice room, unloaded the gear and went home.

-On behalf of all in CB, I want to thank Scruffy for hooking us up for this show. A huge thanks to Greg for not only being part of Scruffy's efforts to have us play here, but for taking a chance & giving us the opportunity to prove ourselves in front of a packed house. We need a few more of these at different places. Thanks for all the bands & the sound/light guys-they all did great. Most of all, thanks to all the wild, crazy, wonderful people out there. You are the ones who make it all worthwhile. Told you this was gonna be a long one :)

CAROLINE BLUE
CAROLINE BLUE  (over 4 years ago)

Wow-this was quite the weekend! I believe this is the 1st time that CAROLINE BLUE has played 3 (!) shows in 1 weekend-with 2 of them being on the same day! Let's get on with this shall we?

-I managed to get a half day off so I wouldn't end up rushing to the gig-plus I never know on Friday's how long I'd have to do OT-that's whole other blog altogether! Anyways, we met up (with me being fashionably late as usual), but I knew we'd have plenty of time to get there.

-In addition to the band, we also had our sound guy Art and Doc's girlfriend Mindy and their friend Shannon with us for this odyssey, so we took 2 cars. Me & Andy in the van & the rest in Mindy's car. Course, Mindy's car got separated from us and lost for a little while. Rumor has it this was due to Joe insisting that any show we go to can be reached by going on Rt.11 (HA!).

-So we get there and get all the gear inside. Then we went to check out our rooms. We originally were going to spend the night at a friend's place, but that fell thru last minutes-but luckily we got these rooms. They're located above the stage area. Hotel Adams is like this huge old colonial house w/ a lot of atmosphere. As soon as I went upstairs and was walking in the hallway I was thinking that I was in a real-life Resident Evil game . Every time I walked thru those halls I half expected a zombie to jump out at me. :) We got 2 rooms-one for Doc, Mindy & Shannon and the other for the rest of us. We did get some extra cots and Joe brought his blow up bed w/ him. Course, our room had this old fish tank in it w/ 2 dead fish in it-and one that was still alive! Zombie fish maybe? :) This was taken care of quickly.

-Anyway, then sound/lights arrived and we all got things set up and then realxed until around 9:30 PM. Here's th setlist...

-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
-Man in the Box (Alice in Chains)

We had a good crowd here. A bunch of them stayed right in front of us thruout most of the show. Hope they didn't mind us sweating on them :) Sound & lights were an issue. With lights, at one point during "Sex Type Thing", the stage was completely black for about a verse-thta was interesting. There were several people who told us after the show that we didn't sound right and that either the vocals and/ or the guitar were too low at times. Since I wasn't out there, I can't really comment. I can only comment on the monitor mix-what there was of it. Initially-before we went on- my guitar was actually a little loud thru the monitors. The soundguy asked if I was going to play that loud and I said no. As soon as we went on-there was basically NO guitar in the monitor. All I could hear was bass, drums & my vocal. I could hear my guitar a little if I was right in front of it, but when I stepped away-nothing. I asked about 4 times for the guitar to be turned up in the monitors. Nothing. Both Doc & Joe said they couldn't hear my guitar and barely heard my vocals. I couldn't hear them singing. This led to some interesting "versions" of the songs at times, but we got thru it. One good thing was the soundguy brought a 220 v. converter so I had clean sound. Unfortunately, Doc didn't and his sound was filled w/ hissing.

-Even with all that happening, we had a good reaction from the crowd. there are some crazy people in Adams! We sold a bunch of CDs & shirts here and signed a lot of stuff. I also can't remember the last time there were som many cameras taking pics of us. It's a wonderful feeling. If you're at the hotel, you might see a signed CAROLINE BLUE shirt on the wall.

-Cain was on after us and did very well. They sounded great. I didn't catch their whole set because we were busy talking w/ people & posing for photographs outside. In fact, I didn't get to bed till around 4 AM.

-Big thanks to Keith & Family @ Hotel Adams for having us-we'll be back here again on 8/15. Also thanks to Cain and all the people who were there to check us out. You guys are awesome! Pics from this show will be up soon. Now it's off to the Boneshakers blog entry....

-Cold Gin (KISS)

-Sober (Tool)
-Dead or Alive
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)

-Things went off pretty well for the most part. It's been awhile since we've done one of these 4 hour shows so there was some huffin & puffin coming from the stage at times. Outside of my voice cracking twice, I did ok. We had about 30-40 people walk thru the doors so it wasn't a huge crowd, but we had some wild people there. We also made some new friends here & met up with some old ones.

-There were some interesting moments. During "Cold Gin" Doc broke his low E string so while he was changing it, I broke into a solo acoustic version of "How You Remind Me." I haven't done that since I played solo @ The Checkpoint Tavern back in July 2008. After the show this one guy came up to me suggesting that, for future shows, we should do like 3-4 acoustic song section to break things up. Interesting....Joe kept disappearing into this one room thruout the night. Could it be that secret bondage room that is rumoured to be at Shamrocks? :) Doc had his handful w/ the lady in leather :) . As for me, I was talking to a beautiful woman when her boyfriend came up and started humping my leg-twice! Thankfully no pics captured this moment.

-We wish to thank Steve & Barbara ( and "B") for having us back at Shamrocks-we look forward to playing here again in the future. Also a huge thanks to all the people who came out in support of us-it's deeply appreciated. Now let's see if I can get the other 3 shows updated....

-Wow-what a wild time! Just got back from our show @ Hotel Adams & it went great! Let's get into this shall we?

-Believe it or not, I actually arrived at our practice place for load up a little early (!!!). The other guys were still there ahead of me though. It was raining a little at this point but the weather cleared up later on. We arrived at Hotel Adams around 1 or 2-plenty of time before we hit the stage at 4.

-We ran into some old friends here-including Cain and the drummer from 12 Gauge Apocalypse-who remembered being at a CB show 3-4 years ago-what a memory! There was bands both outside & inside all day long. Lots of bands playing heavy stuff, original stuff & covers.

-We loaded our gear in and started to get things set up. The sound guys did a pretty good job-I was told out front everything was heard well. I didn't hardly hear my guitar at all, but you make due. Could be cause the CB rhythm section plays so hard :)

-Here's the set list for this show

-We received a very warm reception from the crowd that was here and had an awesome time! People were really getting into it and we had a pretty good sized crowd thru out the set. We were only suppose to play for 45 minutes, but the crowd wanted one more-so we gave it to them. In the middle of that song, the owner-Keith-went to my setlist and wrote that we could play for another 10-15 minutes! That's where the extension came from. Even after that, the crowd wanted another song, but we had to stop so the next band could go on. Fun thing is, the next band that was suppose to be up pulled a no show! Oh well...

-We did well overall I think-haven't watched the video playback yet. The power at this place was a little "dirty" so I wasn't as feedback-free as I would've liked. A few errors here & there, but I think we did good-and we certainly had enough people tell us after the show that we did well! Kinda funny, at one point, one of the guys in the crowd even jumped on stage and tried to sing a verse to one of the covers.

-Again, we had a great time and we already have another show booked there w/ Cain on Friday July 24. We're going on @ 9:30 & playing for 2 hours. I want to thank Keith & his family for having us here & taking a chance on us. Nice intro BTW (we came in on our learjet???) (HA!). And a huge thanks to all the people there who made us feel very welcomed there. We hope to see you all again (& bring a few friends!) there on the 24th. Pics up soon!

-Thanks for the comment MM! I've only been to the place once-to see the band of a friend of mine play-but that was years ago. I was looking forward to a place that has such a great history of rock bands.

-Things started off with me being late to the practice room. I know "what else is new? (Ha Ha), but earlier I was at a police checkpoint and thru that I found out that my front license plate was gone! Nice huh? So getting that all squared away before hitting the road took some time.

-Me, Doc & Mindy then got Joe and away we went. We arrived there early-we were the 1st band there. Since we were the 1st band playing, we were able to set up right on stage and get a good sound check. The sound guys there-I didn't get their names-were great & very helpful. We had a good mix onstage and people said we sounded great out front. I heard myself pretty well although I have never heard bass drums that thunderous! I mean holy crap-the vibrations actually knocked our banner off the front of the stage while we were sound checking.

-This was a 4 band show and, as such, we only had 40 minutes to play. We were told ahead of time that the other bands were playing all original so we followed suit-with 1 exception. here's the list

-I've Seen The Light Tonight
-Dead or Alive
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Pain
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-"Deny" was actually on the setlist as well but I totally forgot about it! I wasn't really looking at my list. Overall, I think we did good. There was a decent sized crowd here when we went on and we got a great response from them. That was great to see-especially since this is the 1st time that CB has ever played in the Albany area. I was a tad sloppy on "Ace of Spades"-cause with Doc singing that I can actually move! In the past I used to move around a lot more on stgae but now that I used the boost on my amp during solos, I can't be so carefree when moving. Plus with all the singing I now do, I can focus on the pitches and breathing more when I don't move as much. Maybe I need to get a new headset mic....

-Unfortunately, due tot he distance we had to travel, we really couldn't stay to watch the other bands. We did catch part of Coyle's set-they were on after us-and they sounded good. And, of course, Mr. Johnny Sniper was here & it was good to see him again. I made sure to promote him and his "sniper diapers" (thongs w/ his face on them) a few times onstage. Kinda like the old days :)

-After unloading gear, I didn't get back home till around 1 AM. To sum it up, we had a good time there & we look forward to playing in that area again in the future. Thanks to Nocturm, Coyle, Untaymed, the people & crew @ Northern Lights & Mr. Sniper for having us for this show and making things easy for us.

-Now I have to go to work :(

-Sorry I'm so late in getting the show review here-been busy w/ all sorts of stuff. Let's see what I can remember...

-We started off to Ogdensburg a little earlier than normal because we weren't 100% sure what time we were going on. The show was set up initially that we'd be going on with our 1st set at 5 PM and then our 2nd set at 7:30 PM. Then we were told we weren't going on till later, but nothing set so we decided to get there early just in case. We get there and we're told to go on at 5 so that's what we do. In fact, we didn't even really get a chance to change into our stage close-hence why we were wearing our street clothes in the 1st set. Here's what was played during our 1st set...

-Hard Life
-You've Got Another Thing Comin (Judas Priest)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-I've Seen The Light Tonight
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Man in the Box (Alice in Chains)
-Piece of Me (Skid Row)
-For Whom The Bell Tolls (Metallica)
-Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
-Cold Gin (KISS)
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)

-For the most part people were outside eating food & partying while we played. The only exception to that was "Man in the Box"-some people came in and danced on that one. We finished up and got all cleaned up and ready for the 2nd set-which was now at 9:15 PM. This is what we played...

-Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
-Bulls on Parade (Rage Against The Machine)
-Wish (Nine Inch Nails)
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Welcome to the Fold (Filter)
-Christian Woman (Type O Negative)
-NIB (Black Sabbath)
-Scars (Papa Roach)
-Pain
-She Hates Me (Puddle of Mudd)
-Deny
-Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)
-Mine, Mine, Mine
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Where The River Flows (Collective Soul)
-Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)
-Bad Girlfriend (Theory of a Deadman)
-Sober (Tool)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Enter Sandman (Metallica)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-Things started out slow initially, but we started getting more of a crowd response as the set moved on As you can see, we've added a few new covers and more are on the way. The band was a little loose during both sets-but we managed to hang in there and get thru it all. During "Deny" Doc had his girlfriend-Mindy- come up to the stage & get hand cuffed to his mic stand. He had a huge grin on his face through out that song :)

-Cain went on after us and did a great set of covers. We ended up talking to the owner-Greg-a lot about future stuff. It was a good night overall. Even the hotel was a lot better this time around. The soap wasn't that mineral crap and they had a really good continental breakfast the next morning. One thing we did learn was that if we stop @ a Chinese store, do NOT let Joe buy Kimchi-cause he'll start eating it right in the van and we can't ventilate it fast enough! Hence one of Joe's new nicknames "Kimchi Joe" :)

-A huge thanks to all @ Boneshakers, 4th Coast Entertainment and Cain for having us here and a big thanks to all of our Fans, Friends & Freaks who were here in support. Hope to see everyone at our next show here on 7/25. Till then.....

5/27/09-Happy Birthday Doc!
