Ha! Thought you wouldn't read a blog from me in a while? Well, I didn't think I'd ever write one again. Anyway, tons of new things are happening with my music. I'm hosting an open mic, I'm a featured musician for a RAWartists showcase on May 16th, I keep getting asked to play shows with musicians/bands that are touring through the Mid-West, I guess I'm doing something right, I don't know, but, whatever it is, I like it.

What can I say? It's such a rewarding feeling to be recognized as a serious, hard working musician. I couldn't do it without the support of all of you that have become my fans and many of you that are my friends, you know who I'm talking about, I'm talking about my music family here in St. Louis.
I am so very grateful for you all coming out to shows and sharing my music with your co-workers, families, and friends. I can't wait until my album Persistence drops, it will be my first full - length album. It's being recorded by my good friend Edgefield C. Johnston, who just released his full - length album Northside Refugees acc. by The Known Haterz.
Another album I did some work on is coming out on digital release, The Grief Factory by The Maness Brothers. On the album, I play harmonica on the last two tracks. The digital release is this coming Tuesday, December 4th, after that, it will be released at a later date on a 7 inch vinyl record....... I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
So many exciting things have been happening with my music, and I've been playing out so much, hitting up a few open mics a week, and playing a few shows a week. I am so blessed to have all of your support, thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to keep doing what I love.

I might sound like somebody that's said this before, but, it's hard to make it in the music industry. I've been playing guitar for about 17 years, no lessons, know nothing about music theory, yet I'm getting shows almost every month.
First time I got on stage was when I was in 8th grade, some buddies and I played "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix and "Wrap It Up" by The Fabulous Thunderbirds, all for a talent show, I was playing bass back then.
What got me into playing guitar was my older brother, him kicking my ass everything he caught me playing it didn't stop me up from picking it up. Music is my lifeline, next to love, but if I lose love I'll always have music.
No matter how hard it is to make it in the industry I'm going to tough it out, there have been so many times and a few broken guitars that swore I would never play a note again.
One thing that's a little disturbing is the fact that there are artists out there that have managers and producers and such that are getting everything spoonfed to them, yeah they might have gone through hard times too, but, they're very disgusting people when you ask for a little help, especially when they were in a place just like you are.
No matter what I'm going to keep playing and singing my songs for myself or for whoever wants to listen, and for whoever wants to get up and dance to. Take a listen to my music, I'm certain you'll enjoy it.

Workin my butt off is starting to pay off :)
