Sirenicide / Blog

The History and update.

Sirenicide came screaming out of the cold on February 13, 2006 as a Song idea by Johnny Stitches for a previous act called Nefestus. After their demise, the powerful song idea soon morphed into a concept project of the same name over the next year. In April of 2007, Stitches joined forces with Houston area guitarist Skettis. The two worked with a number of different musicians over the next 3 years, but had a hard time landing another solid member for the project. However, in their search the duo developed ideas for the future of the band including Sirenicide’s theme of "Medically Induced Metal" and the concept of “Doc” the band’s now trademark logo. In August of 2010, after a long search, Mickey Tourniquet was placed on the throne behind the drums. Then in April of 2011, Vinnie Syringe joined on the bass. Shortly thereafter, Eddie Vial joined the ranks as a second guitarist. The five-piece ensemble played all over Houston, setting their sights on becoming an elite force in the Houston metal scene. In early 2012 Mickey Tourniquet & Vinnie Syringe left the band for personal reasons not related to the music. The remaining members of the band decided to take a break from live shows to record their much-needed Demo and find new musicians. During the making of the Sirenicide DEMO, Eddie Vial moved to the Drum throne Sirenicide enlisted Joey Trauma as the band’s Bassist in May of 2012. The line up started work on the band’s new live set right away and gigs were scheduled all over Texas well into 2013.
