What's Happening August to October

G'day Everyone, Gee this year is going fast, it'll be Christmas before we know it. Well I'm still loving my freedom, got home from Barcaldine on the 24th of August, really enjoyed that trip. It was a great experience. Had a spell for a couple of weeks, then it was back into again. My next show was at Dalby to sing a few songs for the local Radio 4DDD Fundraiser. Big thanks to Bluey Shelton for asking me to come along. Then it was off to Bedgerabong Country Music Campout. It was a great weekend and I caught up with a few good mates on the way, had a great time. Big thanks to Veva and the Team for having me and looking after me so well. I had a week to fill after that, so me and the old ute did abit of camping on the road. It was great to take my time to get to the next venue. My next Festival was at Ballina. It was Ballina's Coast to Country Festival's first year and from what I here it was a great success. I had three spots on the Sunday. Thank you to Marie and the team for having me. On a sadder note, I would like to send my deepest sympathies to the Dallas Family for the loss of Jeff. My he rest in peace. I also lost my gran on September the 9th. She was a big country music fan and used to love coming along to the shows at Pittsworth and the surrounding areas. I was so proud to have her in the audience as well as all my family that came along to the Star Quest that I won in 2009. rest In Peace Gran, Love you heaps. I think that's all for now, my next adventure will be at Munna Creek. Catch you all soon. Sharon :)

What's Happening July to August

G'day Everyone, Well this year has been great so far. Since I've been talking to you last there's been abit of stuff happening. I've finally wrote my first song, which I'm pretty excited about. I didn't think I was ever gonna write one, but this just came out of nowhere. I'm hoping to have it on my next album and it's about a subject I'm pretty fond of and that's driving, can't wait to hear it on cd. Caught up with alot of mates at Ron Peter's 90th Birthday party. It was great, just a big Country music show and Ron can still yodel as good as ever. Congrats Ron on your 90th Birthday, may you have many more mate :) Then it was off to Ashford the following week raise money for NEVAT(care flight), it was great to see people come out and support such a worthy cause. My next adventure was a trip to One Tree Plain, I wasn't suppose to be there, but I had no music that weekend of Jammo's Show, so I thought I'd go for a look. Left Friday after work, left early Sunday morning to get back to work for Monday, really enjoyed that drive, the longer the better :) Boondooma time again, and like always, it's great to catch up with everyone and have alot of fun. Next on the list is Broxburn Bash.I had a hour spot on the Sunday and I also caught up with Laura Downing and Graham Roger. Now to the part that I'm really excited about, on the 16th of June I quit my job at Oakey Abattior to follow my music dream. I now have my freedom, Woo Hoo :) A big thanks to Oakey Abattior for letting me go on my trips when I needed to. On the 19th of June I had a guest spot at St Paul's Lutheran Hall in Oakey, big thanks to Kevin Webber for inviting me. The following week it was off to Pittsworth Leagues Club to help raise funds for Kelly Fogarty to and represent Australia. I hear both Kelly and Gary went really well and brought medals home. Well Done to you both!!!! Next I was off to Rockhampton with Dean and Suzie Perrett and Ricky Shipp, to play a bit of bass on a CMAA Fundraiser. We catch up with Logan Brewster and his family there. It's always a pleasure to work with great muso's like Dean, Shippy and Logan, Thanks boys :) Back in the ute again and this time to Tamworth Hats Off Festival. Again great to catch up with a few familiar faces. I arrived in Barcaldine on the 19th of July and have been singing at the Homestead Caravan Park everyday. I haven't done the caravan park thing before. It's been a great experience for me, I'm loving it. Big thanks to Jammo for giving me this oppotunity, such a beautiful town Barcy and a lot of history to go with it. Also a big thanks to Ben and Thanh Elst for looking after me so well. If you're ever in Barcy, go and say G'day to Ben and Thanh at the Homestead Caravan Park, such a nice place to stay, you won't want to leave. I think that's all for now. Catch you all down the track somewhere. Cheers, Sharon

What's Happening (December to January)

G'day Everyone, Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year, I know I did. Nothing better than spending time with the family. Well I was so relieved to get to Tamworth, I didn't think I was gonna make it, all the roads were cut out of Oakey, plus half our town was under also. Deepest sympathies to anyone who lost a loved one or their homes in the floods, cyclones and fires that have been terrorising our country. It can only get better, I hope :) Tamworth was busy as usual, with a very full and fun 10 days. I always have a great time catching up with all my mates, it's like a big reunion. I was very honoured to find out that I got a mention in Ted Egan's latest single "Queensland Opera" which he put together the single and a book, with words to the song and pictures of everyone who is in the song. Great stuff, thanks so much Ted for including me :) After Tamworth it was back to work for a couple of days, then down to Narromine on Australia Day to do my first 4 hour show on my own. It all went really well, I surprised myself :) That same week, I was a guest artist for a fundraiser to raise money for the flood victims at Jondaryan Hall Qld with the Dalby Country Music Club, it was a great afternoon and it was great catch up with Jeff and Elinore and to have Elinore backing me on the Lager Phone, thanks mate. At this stage I'm still gathering songs for the next album, hopefully it won't be too much longer before I get out. Hope to catch up with you all somewhere down the track. All the best, Sharon
