It's Just a Thought by Darrin Carter When you or I think we surely have an answer based on our education, experiences, or exposure to varying life scenarios, although we may be more prepared than some- yet we are still afar off from absolute certainty. For instance, over the course of this past week I have experienced very deep valleys and extremely high peeks (spiritually, figuratively, and emotionally). Nevertheless, my conclusions is simple, I know very little about myself and about life; each day I get closer to God, I grow closer to reality. Today I encourage you to motivate yourself to experience the unknown that is around you, that we all may experience optimal harmony. If we only hold on to what we have first hand knowledge of, we will forever be narrow in our thinking missing chance to experience “life“. With Care, Darrin Carter
Troubling Me - Darrin Carter So today I think of the conditions of the world; then I think about the actions of the Church. I have a question, is the Church relevant when it comes to social issues in the "World". Does the Church have an answer for women who have been raped and wish to abort the unwanted child; the gay and lesbian community - harassment of and hate crimes which they experience, in addition to the discrimination from the Church they receive; the spreading of HIV; the errors concerning African American's who are wrongfully incarcerated; the conditions of inner city schools; Are we relevant? Did Jesus Love Everybody? Those who accused the adulterous woman, Jesus stated you who are not adulterers cast a stone? No. He said, you who are without sin. I will give my answer to these social issues on my next Blog, there is an answer and His name is Jesus. But I will make this name applicable to the social tares we have witnessed in the earth. Dare to be Jesus. Dare to be Just. Dare to care. Dare to speak out. I Dare you to share- The Gospel. The Messenger John 3-6 The religion scholars and Pharisees led in a woman who had been caught in an act of adultery. They stood her in plain sight of everyone and said, "Teacher, this woman was caught red-handed in the act of adultery. Moses, in the Law, gives orders to stone such persons. What do you say?" They were trying to trap him into saying something incriminating so they could bring charges against him. John 6-8 Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the dirt. They kept at him, badgering him. He straightened up and said, "The sinless one among you, go first: Throw the stone." Bending down again, he wrote some more in the dirt. Selah!
Darrin Carter- Why I Do This... The reason I do what I do is to share a different perspective of what serving God is and what it can be. Many believe that there is only one way to worship, one church to attend, and even only one religion. The older I get the more I realize that I am at best a word in a sentence and that’s about it. The depth and breath of Gods love goes so far that I can say with confidence, who can know it. I encourage you to seek the Lord with your hearts and minds as best as you can and always know the Spirit of the Lord is there to help you. Darrin Carter
G-O-Devotional by Rev. Chrystal Colding Wonderful You: "Keep me as the apple of the eye" Psalm 17:8 When's the last time someone took the time to tell you that you are wonderful? Has it been a while? When's the last time you honestly felt like you were wonderful? Well let me tell you my friend, you are wonderful. God thinks you're wonderful and so do I. You are God's masterpiece. You are one of a kind. You were fearfully and wonderfully made. You are the apple of God's eye. You are the essence of God's love. There is no one else in the universe who is like you. You are special to God. You are loved by God. Regardless of where you came from, regardless of what you've done in the past, regardless of all the mistakes you've made...God still thinks you're wonderful. You see, God doesn't judge or love you based on where you've been and what you've done; He loves you based on who He is and what He's already done for you.... For Entire Blog contact Rev. Presented By Chrystal Colding "Dream the HIM-possible Dream" In life there are two different sizes of dreams. There are man-sized dreams and then there are God-sized dreams. When God gives you a God-sized dream, it is always bigger than yourself. His dream for your life is something beyond your wildest imagination. It is like nothing you have ever seen, felt, or experienced before. It's almost as if it is 'larger than life.' God's dream for your life is huge. To try to comprehend or fathom the dream that God dreams for your life is almost mind boggling. When God gives you a dream for your life, it's almost impossible to take it all in. That's the beauty of a God-sized dream. It is impossible to accomplish or fulfill apart from Him. A God-sized dream requires God up in the mix of it in order for it to come to fruition in your life. Sometimes when others hear about your God-sized dream, they too cannot understand and comprehend it. Many times when we have a dream that is bigger than ourselves, others begin to criticize the reality of it ever coming to pass (some times we do too). Look at Joseph - God gave him a dream for his life when he was a teenager. When he shared his God-sized dream with his family, they began to criticize him. There are many people who will try to hinder you, hold you back, or suppress you from fulfilling your God-sized dream. That's what Joseph's brothers did. They tried to get rid of him in order to cause his God-sized dream to die. Can you imagine how different things would have been if Joseph would have allowed his God-sized dream to die? He would have missed out on being the savior of his family in the time of famine. Presented by Chrystal Colding: Take a minute to read this quote I found and let it sink down into the depths of your being: "A vision without a task is just a dream. A task without a vision is just a job. A vision with a task can change the world." Did you know that the dream that God has for your life has the potential to change the world? Did you know that the vision God sees for your life has the potential to shake the world? It does! It's amazing how many people go to a 'job' on a daily basis while daydreaming about something greater, more fulfilling, and more life enriching they'd rather be doing. They perform daily mundane tasks while dreaming big dreams.... By Darrin Carter - I See Your Mouth Moving, But What Are You Saying? 1 Corinthians 13 (The Message) "1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end." You can't love me like you say if you keep records of my wrong doing, always looking back at past failures, flying off the chain when I disappoint you or let you down, and endlessly forcing your will upon me. Many of us try to distinguish God's love from the way of man. But if you really want to know God's love, then look at Jesus actions! Love is not love until you give it away…wait hold up, and someone has to receive it folks. I know we don't think of that side of love. Can I declare that I'm patient, yet have not one person to testify about the patience that Darrin Carter demonstrated to another? Understand this, fruit is essential. With Care, DC
Chrystal Colding - Yes...No...Wait! When we ask God for something we can be confident of one thing - that God is always faithful in giving us those things which we ask and desire. When we ask God for something, we can be assured that we will receive it. Some times we receive it in "yes" form; some times we receive it in "no" form; and some times we receive it in "wait" form. "Yes" simply implies that the thing which you desire is in God's will and it is in His time for you to have it. "No" simply implies that it's not in His will for you to have it. "Wait" simply implies that it is in His will for you to have it, it's just not His time yet. It's so wonderful to receive a "yes" from God. It's the "no" and the "wait" that are the hardest. But there are always huge blessings that await you in the midst of every "no" and "wait" that God gives you. When God tells you "no," it's not because He doesn't love you and it's not because He's trying to keep something from you. When He tells you "no" it's because He has something much better and much greater in store for you. When God tells you to "wait," it's not because He likes delaying things or prolonging things in your life. He tells you to "wait" so that He can be glorified in the midst of the outcome of that thing which you desire and have asked of Him! "Asher sat unmoved at the seashore, remaining in his harbors." (Judges 5:17) As I read this scripture my mind started pondering on a certain word to describe Asher's actions. It sounds to me like he was a bit complacent; that he was in a rather comfortable place; that he was within the safety and security of his own boundaries; that he was right where he wanted to be and he had no desire to move. Have you ever been in that kind of place? You know, the safe zone; the comfort zone; the place of safety and security? This is the precise place that excuses will take you; and not only will excuses take you there, excuses will also leave you there. Making excuses is synonymous to playing it safe. Asher chose to remain unmoved on his harbors. He chose to stay right where he was, within the safety of his own harbors, when he could have been launched out into the deep depths of God's ocean. He chose to play it safe, rather than take a risk and dive into the deep depths of God and experience something he had never experienced before. There is only one thing that stands between you and your purpose in and promise from God – excuses. When God calls you to a specific purpose or gives you a promise, within yourself it may seem impossible or inconceivable; it may be hard to grasp or comprehend the depths of the great things that God desires for you and desires to do in and through you. But whatever God has called you to or promised you, He doesn’t expect you to fulfill it or lay a hold of it apart from Him. He has equipped you with everything that you need to fulfill it and to lay a hold of it. The only reason why you can't do what God has said you can do and why you can't have what God has said you can have is because you've been giving excuses. Purpose in your heart – right here and right now - to eliminate ALL excuses from your life. Remove the word "can't" completely from your vocabulary. Stop making excuses and start making it happen! If God has called you to it, He will take you to it. If God has promised it to you, He will also fulfill it for you. Now that you have removed all excuses, run after God with all that is within you and do what He said you could do and lay hold of what He said is yours! You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! (Phil 4:13). Rev.
