It's starting to feel like Christmas, especially after Mike's Christmas CD release and the recent snowfall. Looking forward to tracking over the holidays.
Looking forward to Galloways this weekend on the Great Grand Manan Island. Hope the weather co-operates - it's been so mild there are still wild roses growing here. This was a first for me - i sang bluegrass harmony on one of the songs on Mike's Christmas album. The whole project was a joy to be part of - and, of course, I'll be playing at the release party...with bells on, in a couple of weeks.
Spent some time in studio last night with some very talented people working on Mike Biggar's upcoming Christmas album. Had good laughs, good conversation & good music. Today I'm meeting the incomparable Sammy P to brainstorm about guitar tracks for my CD. I am very enthusiastic about this guy's playing and can't wait to hear his ideas.
In spite of torrential rains and hurricane-like winds some very fine folk came out to the fundraiser last night. The crowd was enthusiastic and generous. I was mystified by this contrapation a guy was setting up - I thought maybe it was a magician's table but turns out it was a pedal steel. Very cool. AND I got to hear local guitar legend Mark Hill play one of my favorites - 'Vincent'. So it was all good - a win/win situation all around and the rain stopped by the time we left. The gang of nurses leaves for the Dominican Republic on Oct 31, for some, their first trip of it's kind.
