FYI Music News puts news of STARVED single release just above Leonard Cohen in David Farrell's "Morning Coffee" column yesterday. Like that kind of association!
Monday, October 18, STARVED will land at radio stations in Canada. Gritty sampled pop folk rock, STARVED is the first single to be released from Benjamin Russell's ROCKHILL CD (songs from a high rise hideaway).
STARVED has been compared in sound to Roxy Music and David Bowie.
Billing himself as "trans-genre", Russell is fiercely original, drawing from his folk roots but combining this with elements of his punk rock days and his electronic 80's pop. His song, "Miracle" was a hit on CFNY back in the 80's when he was nominated most promising male vocalist in the nationally televised CASBY awards.
The new ROCKHILL CD is now available in stores and online throughout North America. Ask for it in any HMV store in Canada.
Distributed in Canada by Indie Pool, and in the US by CD Baby, the album can be bought as a physical CD or in the increasingly popular digital download format.
