The Late Saints - November!

Dear Friends,

what better occasion than "All Saints Day" to send out our monthly update? Lately The Late Saints have been flying under the radar to elaborate, explore, ruminesce, and prepare. November will see the birth of our logo, band picture and website and if there is still time our first produced single. All this effort will climax into our grand comeback the end of the month.

In fact we are super psyched to announce that have been invited to play at Wilmo Rock Circus 2013. This one day festival, created by GableMusicVentures in collaboration with World Cafe Live and Planet Ten Multimedia, has been steadily growing for the past 2 editions and the upcoming one promises to be really epic. On Nov. 30th at the Queen in Wilmington 25 bands will alternate on 3 stages for a seven hour marathon of great music. All "brought to you" by WXPN. If you are free that weekend I strongly encourage you and your friends to come, show your love and join the party! As a performing band we have a certain number of tickets available for our fans at a substantially discounted price ($10 instead of $14-17). I will be hitting many open mics in Philly and Wilmington this month so just drop me a line and I'll bring you tickets. PS: those who purchase a ticket in advance will get a complimentary kazoo signed by the Late Saints to hum along the tunes we'll play at the show (set list will be announced a few days prior so you'll have time to prepare).

On another note we'll soon be hitting the studio to record a new single called "Psychodrama". Lately I have grown very fond of this song and I think it's time to properly produce it and send it out in the world. We'll keep you posted!

Finally, now that temperatures have fallen a bit (sort of) and we are easing into Fall, I'd like to share with you the video of the single "Sola" that my brother Lorenzo shot last winter on the Piedmont hillside. You can check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4RooVjDbeI

Have a great month and hope to see all of you at the Circus! Jacopo & The Late Saints

September (or second August)

Dear friends,

I have just come back from a lovely 2 week vacation in Italy and I can't tell you how much I missed Philadelphia and its summer weather. The City made a point to give me its warmest and moistest embrace and I'm literally giddy for the excitement ;)

Regarding Italy It was absolutely fantastic to spend time with old friends and family, eat great food and manage to spend a couple of mellow days on a Mediterranean beach. Despite the recent crisis and the political turmoil it's business as usual over there and people manage to go about their lives one way or another. Outdoor markets still rule with their vast array of genuine foods, fashionable clothing and mundane spectacles. And last but not least it's always time for great nightlife!

Speaking of which, this month The Late Saints will have 2 shows. The first one is in Wilmington at the Cool Springs Farmers Market on Thu Sept 26th 6-8pm. Curated by my friends at GableMusicVentures this season has showcased some pretty talented people and apparently we'll be the ones closing it with a bang! This is a freebie so come stock up on goodies and listen to our new 2hr repertoire.

The second is In Philly at Connie's Ric Rac on Sat Sept 28th. We'll be on at 10pm, door is $5. All the details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/555388501188204/

On another note, we are working on an October San Francisco tour. Everything's still nebulous but I'll keep you posted as soon as things firm up a bit.

Have a great beginning of the new school year Pace e bene Jacopo

August!

Dear friends,

it's amazing how much slower august is! The City is kinda sleepy and moody, there's a lot of extra parking, less traffic and still plenty of live music. For me and the Late Saints this month is dedicated to prep work, relaxing and gearing up for September. We are developing a specific website for The Late Saints. It will be online soon with photos, live videos and songs from the shows we have been playing in June and July.

Speaking of shows. Micah and I will play a full 2 hour set next Thur Aug 8th at Extreme Pizza in Wilmington during Happy Hour from 5-7. If you are in the area come by, we have a lot of new material and some special covers for a very lounge-y set!

On the second half of August I'll fly back to Italy for a long due visit to family and friends and will be back at the beginning of September.

I wish you all a great rest of the summer! Jacopo

July, here we come!

Dear friends,

hope you had a great 4th of July and this email finds you well and properly cooled. Temperatures are rising and playing shows is now the closest thing to a bikram yoga workout that I can think of!

June was quite inspiring. First we had a super fun radio interview on Mark Roger's "Hometown Heroes" that turned into a two hours of music and jokes. If you missed it you can still listen to the podcast (week of 6/23) here:

The following Tuesday we opened for Billy Cox at the Queen, check this out!:

It was a great experience throughout and it taught me 2 things: 1) you can be almost 70 years old and still send people into a musical frenzy 2) stoner rock is loud! I was the only one in my band not wearing ear plugs...

At Chris Jazz Cafe we tested the "Late Saints" on a 2 hr repertoire (kudos!) and had the pleasure to listen to Sam Albright's sax soloing on a couple of my tunes (thanks man, you are welcome any time!). Beth Goldwater was the perfect counterpoint for the evening and set everybody's mood just right.

In July we'll be a little bit all over the place: Lickety Split in Philly on Wed the 10th, Hebe Restaurant in Mt Holly, NJ on Fri the 19th, Bean Cafe in Philly on Sat July 27th with SunFlights and more along the way. To keep up with the updated schedule check our page:

Before we part ways I wanted to send you a link to the video of "Sola", track number 4 on my new electro-pop album that I'll release in Italy in September. It's not season appropriate but definitely refreshing:

Looking forward to seeing ya'll somewhere around Thanks for your support and love Jacopo

What's happening in June: shows and collaborations

Hello friends, June has arrived and showered us with some unexpected and welcome opportunities!

The highlight of this month will definitely be our show at World Cafe Live in Wilmington on June 25th, opening for Mr Billy Cox and the Band of Gypsies. For those of you who are not familiar with the man, let me just tell you that he played bass for Jimi Hendrix in the Experience and now, a few years later, he's still rocking! Can't tell you how excited we are to be the ones that will set the mood for this great evening!

The night after (Wed June 26th) we'll be in Philly at Chris Jazz Cafe from 7 to 10 pm. The charming and talented Beth Goldwater will contribute to spice the evening up. If you have never been in this venue I strongly recommend it, classy atmosphere and fine food on Sansom street.

On Sun June 30th we'll be back in Wilmington for the Old Fashioned Rockwood Ice Cream Festival 2013! Following up last year's successful re-opening this year's edition will be super packed with great music acts selected by my buddies at Gable Music Ventures and a crazy array of food stands. Be prepared for a sense feast.

On the music production side, I'm finishing Sheila Hershey's new song "Hard to come by" (preview soon) and my buddy Brene Wilson has just released his great new EP "wrong decision" where I played bass. Check it out, it's free download!! http://brenewilson.bandcamp.com/

Wish you all a great month and hope to see you at one of these nights! Ciao Jacopo

September

whirlwind of faces clicking intermittingly on these social scenes notes broken into digi-morsel acoustic consumption greed I savor tiny bites of your worlds i caress your polished masks with hungry eyes like an alien i wander like a sentinel in the desert I wait like a firefly i glow. Back on the road. It's been a long haul without live performances. Recording "Torn in the USA" has been fun, challenge, discovery and hard work. Aldo and I spent months polishing, refining and defining it. Now that it's out there I want people to know it, to feel the energy that lies in it. I'm ready. I'm back on the road.

Life on the East Coast

spring is finally here! buds, flowers, birds chirping, students partying, that inebriating smell in the air. I feel coming back to life again. Working on the new album. defining who I am once more...
