The Head Changers would like to announce the launch of "Live Joints", a series of hand-picked soundboard recordings to be released over the course of 2010.
"Live Joints" marks the beginning of The Head Changers latest music venture. The realism of a live performance is hard to overlook. There is no chance to hide any mistakes that are made or go back and record another take. The end result is a near 100% true representation of the band and The Head Changers wouldn't want it any other way.
Clocking in at almost 80 minutes, "Live Joints" Volume 1 races through a cross-section of T.H.C.'s musical stylings. The homespun nature of the disc invites the listener to participate with Austin Alexander and Josh Dick's entwining guitars as they weave within the dynamic tempos and myriad grooves of bassist Will Crichton and drummer Eric Ramey. Just four guys interacting with each other and the audience, showing their devotion towards a straightforward concept: create quality music.
"Live Joints" Volume 1 will be available for purchase starting this weekend at our 5th Street Pub gig and soon will be available at select retail outlets in the Mid-Ohio Valley. We will also be following up each CD release with a digital release as well, making the tracks available through online outlets such as ITunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc..
So come to the show this weekend, buy yourself a copy, and help us kick off the "Live Joints" series off with a bang.....
What a crazy year 2009 was for The Head Changers. First and foremost we want to thank everyone who came out to see us play, bought a t-shirt, help sell merchandise, told a friend, DANCED!!!, asked for a CD, helper flyer, etc...... This year saw another person named Eric playing the drums, another person named Will playing the bass(thus the return of Willie's Groove in the rotation), and saw long time partner Jeremy Harmon depart from the band to move to Texas. It saw our good friend Joe Wright step in on Bass for a couple shows. We had many great evenings with friends that most of us hardly can recall. Most notably, however, were our first show back at The Sixpence, our Halloween gig with the insane light show, and especially when we headlined/produced our first outdoor festival at The 339 Raceway (and yes there will be a second annual 339 Festival this coming spring/summer..more details coming soon) We wrote and performed a good amount of new material, and busted out tunes we had not played in years, and everything just felt right for a change. We have NEVER been this tight, everyone is one the same page(for the most part anyways). All in all, we would have to say that 2009 was the most productive year we have ever had since we started this journey. We can only hope that in 2010, things just keep getting better and better. 2010 will also be a year that some THC member side projects will be debuted. Josh, Eric and Will will be soon working on a instrumental jazz/funk project, Austin will be working on a acoustic bluegrass/country trio, and Josh will be playing with his brother Chad from time time as The Dick Brothers Band. Should be a busy year for all us all indeed. Once again we can't stress enough how thankful we are to those people who have supported us along the way..you know who you are.
Have a great 2010!
