Roughly 7 months ago in November, the three of us (Dan, Luc and I) got together for the first time to play some music at a party. This party was in Dekalb, IL in a close friend's basement. The cops ended up coming somewhere around 3 am, no one 'lived' at the house we were at, someone left in an ambulance and the hosts paid off their ticket with the proceeds of the party. Needless to say, it was a success.
We had no idea what we were to play. Naturally, we just improvised the entire time. For our first venture out, we thought (and much of the crowd) thought it was a great success. There seemed to be some cosmic force binding our ears and brains together as one cohesive entity that was then amplified through our instruments and speakers. A week later we decided that this trio was the vehicle in which we would cruise vistas. Bonzo Terks was born.
Since that time, we have been creating, cavorting, carousing, toiling, and boiling over with ideas, noise and general debauchery. While, lately, we've been focusing on our songwriting, Bonzo Terks' beginnings reside within the realm of improvisation. With this in mind, we are releasing a recent session from 2.24.10 in which we did nothing but improvise. This release is an inside look to where our music has taken us and the direction we're headed.
