Getting ready to make the journey up to Northern England tomorrow for the show at Scarborough. Looks like we may have a surprise guest. I will keep you posted. On Wednesday, we play at The Cluny 2 in Newcastle. It just so happens that Will Kimbrough, a Nashville based singer/songwriter/guitarist friend originally from Mobile, Alabama will be playing there the very next night!!! Ian It IS a small world––ain't it? : )
Cold. BRRRRRR. Second day here, so I am reeling a little from the battle with my old friend, "jet lag." I am comfortable in my little room here in Gobowen––yes, there IS such a place. It's right near Oswestry, an old English village/town that borders on Wales. My first show is in Wales on SATURDAY at the Portmeirion Town Hall. If you get a chance, "google" that place––it's something special! LM : )
What a fun night off I had! Got to sing with Will, Grayson, Spencer and Randall at The Frog Pond on Blue Moon Farm as part of the Frank Brown International Festival. Incredible music/musicians, and Blue Moon Farm was like a fairyland...magical. Do yourself and favor, go see these guys when you can and check out The Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm.
The Thacker Mountain Radio Show where I (with the help of super guitarist, Cary Hudson) performed for on Thursday, November 10 will be rebroadcast tonight on Mississippi Public Broadcasting (90.30) right after "Prairie Home Companion."
You can either tune in on the radio, or stream the show by going to: http://tunein.com/radio/Thacker-Mountain-Radio-p55530/
