Skaliticians opening up for Panteon Rococo

Hello everyone, here is a gig announcement. This will be our biggest show yet and a great night for Ska in Minneapolis.

Three Ska Bands Panteon Rococo, Malafacha and Skaliticians August 12, 2010 El Nuevo Rodeo 2709 E. Lake St. Minneapolis, MN 55406

Skaliticians, a nine member ska band from Minneapolis, blends Latin rhythms, bilingual lyrics and up-beat ska grooves to put on a high energy show. They will be opening up for Panteon Rococo as they make their way through Minneapolis on their North American tour.

Panteon Rococo is from Mexico, and since 1995 have been well known for their great ska sound and live performances.

Malafacha is from Chicago and has been part of the Midwest ska scene for many years. They have been impressing audiences with their explosive horn section.

El Nuevo Rodeo is the hottest Latin venue in the Twin Cities, with great live music and amazing food.

For more information about Skaliticians, contact Steve Sanders, 612-227-8674.

Songwriting Contest, City Pages, Minneapolis, MN

Hello everyone.

My friend Shawn Stelton and I are finalists in a City Pages songwriting contest called Rock Out Romeo, in anticipation of the Guthrie Theater's upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet. There were over 50 songs submitted and our song, Rewrite Romeo and Juliet was one of five songs selected for the final round. If we win, we receive a nice studio recording package and some free tickets to the Guthrie. But most importantly, I will feel good that people like our song.

Voting is now open! You can click here to hear the songs and vote: http://polls.citypages.com/polls/min/rockoutromeo/

I hope you will think our song is the best and choose to vote for us. If you like it, please forward this message to your friends. Thanks.
