New at Riveras!

Went to Riveras with posters for the upcoming student performance I'm setting up for this Wednesday 6/29/11 from 6-8 PM. Grayslake High School jazz combo Lydian Concept will be featured. If you bring your horn, I bet you could sit in... While there, I enjoyed a tasty cup of black bean soup with a dollup of sour cream and tortilla crumbles on top8)

Family Feast!

On Father's Day I took my Dad to Italian Kitchen for a family feast. The six of us split shrimp pizza, eggplant parmegian, lobster and crad rissoto, and an amazing seafood linguini with garlic/wine sauce.

Lots to eat at gigs!

I've missed a few nights. I had Aroncini at Italian Kitchen. I'd never had one of these stuffed meatballs before. It was like a giant cheese curd with rice and seasoned ground beef. My son Steven stopped by after his new job and ate half. Minestrone soup chock full of veggies was also on the table;0)

Philly G's

Enjoyed a large helping of Gnocci with Vodka Cream Sauce from Philly G's last Wednesday night after a terrific night of jazz. Wonderful comments were very welcome;0)

Last Thursday, we had a traditional pizza dinner with pepperoni at Italian Kitchen. Quite yummy! Also had minestroni soup. Mm,mm, good...

Spicy Octopus!

Yup, I had Octopus Arrabiatta last night at Italian Kitchen. Lisa actually ordered it. I had what was left after the gig. Quite tasty with green peppers and olives. Not a combination I would get for myself. Andy had Lobster and Crab Risotto. Creamy and rich. Steve had the Chicken Pesto again...

Philly G's special!

Had Ravioli Florentine with Vodka Cream Sauce after the gig Wednesday night. Nice combo of rocatta and spinach in my favorite Philly G's sauce...

Eats and Treats at Jazz Wave.

Great gig tonight. Big Ed's in North Chicago brought over some mac n cheese, but it was gone by the end of the gig. I did have some wonderful peach cobbler. Sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Mmmmmm...

An 86th Birthday Feast...

My Dad turned 86 this week and the family had dinner at Italian Kitchen. Not together, but the same evening... My folks came early and enjoyed Pesto Gnocci and a Chicken and Sausage dish with peproncini and garlic sauce. My wife and two boys came later due to work. They enjoyed Chicken Tagletelle, (home-made pasta rolled with chicken, cheese and other yummy stuff), Pesto chicken pasta, and Linguini with Shrimp and Lobster in a Vodka Cream Sauce. Happy Birthday, Dad!!!

Hot Chocolate!

Highly recommend Mexican Hot Chocolate from Mindy's in Wicker Park. It's owned by a grade school friend's sister. Amazingly sweet with tons of cinnamon!
