The Road to Artifacts

In just a few hours, our first full-length album will be available for purchase online and let me tell you, we are sooo excited!

So, just why is it so special? Well, first and foremost Artifacts has been a project we've been building for the past year and a half; it feels really good to have completed it! If you're a musician then you understand how enduring - and at times frustrating - it can be to record, produce and master you're own album from a home studio. Secondly, it serves as an artifact (no pun intended) that attests to the journey and development of Everember, as well as the musical careers of all involved.

The songs on this record are those most dear to our hearts. For us, they bring back many memories of learning to write, perform and engage the message of hope with people that we will never forget. Since 2010 a season of the band has come and gone, and now Everember is pulling together to take this ministry to a level it has previously only eyed from afar.

Just last week the band returned home from Knoxville, TN where we finished tracking our first professional EP with Travis Wyrick - producer of bands including Disciple, POD, Pillar and many others. As we move forward and continue to push our talents and abilities to their limits, we hope that you will enjoy this monument of an incredible journey that we have shared with many of you so far.

Be blessed, Andy Bowen of Everember

What are the "Artifacts"?

For over a year you've seen us throw this term around. Now, as the release date approaches, it's time for us to really dive into the idea behind it.

The answer is simple; you are. I am. We all are the artifacts.

As songs were written and the album started to take shape, the band realized that these pieces of artwork were more than just that, they were honest interpretations of life and living it. Everember is a young band, always growing in experience and this was the first time we felt like we were sincerely connected with the lyrics we were writing. They were pieces of our hearts that we dug up, cleaned up and polished into something that was musically attractive.

That's when it hit us.

Christ willingly lived amongst us, experienced the fallen world and then gave his life to pay our debt. He met us where we were; buried below enough dirt to hold us forever, dug us up and gave up his life to make us into something beautiful. Into an artifact.

You. Me. We're all precious. We have a value that's greater than anything else in this universe. Not because of anything we did, but because of the road that was paved for us. This is the message of "Artifacts".

We sincerely hope that we have effectively portrayed this idea throughout the lyrics, photos and music (hence the treasure chest). As March 19 fast approaches, we couldn't be more ready to share it with the world.

It's time for the Artifacts to rise up.
