Chainwax to join local music fixtures onstage at Shark City
Hundreds of attendees mean Shark City is going to need a bigger boat
Mount Prospect, IL - On June 18, hard rock band Chainwax will return to Shark City in Glendale Heights in support of their full-length album, Provoked, released at the beginning of this year. Joined by three other fixtures on the local music scene, they will be performing songs from Provoked as well as material from their upcoming album.
Chainwax has become a fixture on the local metal scene in the last year, when the band came together and wrote their debut album inside of a month. Their transition into live performances came just as smoothly. Chainwax performances draw metal and rock fans alike, and their upcoming shows include July 3 at North Beach in Downers Grove and July 10 on the main stage at Penny Road Pub in South Barrington.
Also appearing at Shark City will be local metal acts Orion Nine, DEADMANSWAKE, and The Goodyear Pimps. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and admission is $6. Shark City is in Glendale Heights, IL, located at the northwest corner of Army Trail Rd. and Bloomingdale Rd.

About Chainwax: Recently seen performing in Milwaukee with fellow Chicagoans Chevelle, Chainwax has regrouped in the last year to engage a new audience with melodic metal vocals and an aggressive string section. Vocalist Kriz Radousky and drummer Mike Tignino are joined by bassist Greg Heavey and guitarist Chris Sampey, and they released their first full-length album, Provoked, at the beginning of 2010. Consisting of brave confrontations with its past, Chainwax performs songs like “One More Score” and “Never Letting Go” (from their upcoming album, Open Wounds) with unabashed emotion and enthusiasm.

So- here's an update from chainwax-land.1) House of blues chicago Requested a cd for booking purposes2) We were contacted by a radio station from sarasota,fl--they want a cd3) Illinois Entertainer is doing an EX-PO-SAY (an article) on us for the April Issue4) We have 5 completed songs for the next album5) We just maile...d out over 200 copies of the album to record labels and Radio stations around the world (the shotgun technique)stay tuned for the results of all these shenanigans.....

STATE OF THE WAX ..... CHAINWAX
After years of recording demo cd's and playing dives, chainwax has stepped into the big show. We have recorded a full lenth debut album that will soon be available worldwide on i-tunes. Google the term chainwax band, and get a small glimpse at what we've been up to. In the last 5 weeks we have played 5 shows. In the next 2 weeks, we have 2 more. That's 7 shows in 7 weeks. We are relentlessly oversaturating the chicago local music scene with our very particular brand of hard rock. When most local bands have the same beat and screaming verse-chorus-verse format, we strive for something a little more in-depth. We are not letting up this time around. As the long winter months begin, we will assemble press kits complete with the new album, to be sent to over a thousand diffrent record labels (major and indpendant). Come the beginning of the next concert season, I guarantee you will see us plaiying the aragon, all state, and first midwest bank ampatheater. We are in it for the gold this time, and we won't allow anything to hold us back anymore. So keep your ears tuned into the radio and your eyes trained on the sky. There are big and exciting things happening here at chainwax, and you won't want to miss a thing.
