If You Look Through Me (Maxi-single)

“ IF YOU LOOK THROUGH ME ” Los Angeles, May 2012

“If You Look Through Me” is the First Single that will complete the cd “Music For a Lonely Muse”. About the history of the song, at the beginning, it was born as a piece for piano and voice, composed in May 2009. With the realization of that song, it ‘foresaw’ which would become the new LP. The original version, for voice and piano, has never been properly recorded due to lack of a grand piano, that would allow to perform/execute and make in a correct and meticulous way (all) as the song itself requires; “leggero”, “legato”, “pianissimo” and “fortissimo” can’t be performed and made in the best way using the actual software programs, especially “leggero”, there’s no way to make it, despite many people believe that’s/this is possible by the aid of technology, that’s able to accurately emulate the timbre of that instrument; on the other hand, the school of thought of those who really know this instrument and its features, as well as the possibilities of sound, appears to be contrary to the claims from the first one.

The sound obtained by resorting in a software application by a ‘midi controller’ compared to that produced by most Steinway pianos, that are always used, will be similar to a ‘hit’, dry, scratchy and hard. However, in May 2009, (it) has been recorded a ‘demo’ by the use of a valid and proven software, because it was impossible (it is still now) to have/play a grand piano and an appropriate room acoustics. So, finally, it was recorded an ‘appalling’ demo, which was loaded into the network/on web as such and shared only with close friends.

“The Lonely Mix” – produced in Novembre 2011, was born because of impossibility can record this original version, having to replace the piano chords and to allocate all of/ everything to a different instrumental ensemble. However, it’s still possible to hear a few piano parts/some piano piece , the survivor, of course/obvioulsy, no intention to assimilate it to a grand piano, it was chosen/ it opted to use a synthetic piano sound characterized by a mild ‘detuning’, aimed to making it as ‘broken’ and gloomy. The original version will be recorded as soon as possible (/conditions permitting).

“The Darker Mix” – produced in January 2012 and, as indicated by the same title, it’s more ‘gloomy’ and painful. About the structure of the song, please note/it’s possible noting the first parts, relating to the texts, have been omitted, giving space to a merely instrumental introduction, in order to leave only the chorus and the final sung by Veronica, the function of chorus gives the song an atmosphere full of suffering, as a lament.

“I Still Belong To You ( Sensibile Mix ) ” – produced in November 2011, appears to be one of the favorite songs from Einsend’s Fans/Followers and, about it, had been produced a slightly different version in Spanish, entitled “Fue”.

The Art Cover is a painting, a piece/part of “Lùgubre Arabesque”, acrylic painting created by Martin exclusively for “If You Look Through Me”.
