New MySpace?

If you use it, you can follow Arcane at https://new.myspace.com/arcaneaustralia

The Arcane forums are closing!

As Brad has detailed here - http://www.ozprog.com/forum/showthread.php?p=179167#post179167; the OzProg forums (and the Arcane forum) are (sadly!!) closing indefinitely.

Door closes, window opens, the OzProg guys are working on a new incarnation of OzProg, which will heavily focus around their Facebook page, which you should add here. http://www.facebook.com/ozprog

Unfortunately this means the Arcane forums will be gone, however as we're social networking addicts to the bitter end, you can remain in contact with us at:

www.arcaneaustralia.com www.facebook.com/arcaneaustralia www.twitter.com/arcaneaustralia www.reverbnation.com/arcaneaustralia

In between the insane task of migrating our private administration forums over to a new home, we wanted to take the time to say we value the time spent and posts made from you guys discussing everything from the finer points of Arcane, progressive music, Boston Legal, Star Wars, sloths, celebrities you'd like to have sex with, correcting the grammer of and general ostracising of newcomers, general silliness etc etc.

It's been a riot. -Arcane

Arcane's final show of 2010: Sonic Forge Festival

Arcane's final show for 2010 will fittingly also be our biggest. We'll be performing at the massive multi-stage event Sonic Forge Festival, playing at legendary venue The Espy for the first time, and sharing stages with a who's who of the Australian metal industry.

Melbourne friends, and those amazing fans who are flying from Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide to be there for one incredible day and night of Australian heavy music, we can't wait to see you there. To everyone else, thanks for a fantastic year, we'll see you in 2011!

SONIC FORGE FESTIVAL

A CHARITY EVENT FOR ‘THE CENTER OF HOPE’, HAITI

A true multi-stage, all day metal festival is something that Melbourne has been lacking for quite a few years. No longer! SONIC FORGE FESTIVAL, featuring more than 30 of the best metal bands the Australian metal scene has to offer, will take place on December 4 at the Esplanade Hotel, run over 3 stages, and provide metal fans with 12 hours of endless metal of the highest quality! Whether you like your metal death, melodic, black, prog, grind, math, tech, core or other, there is something for everyone and it’s all for only $15!

In addition to supporting and promoting the many great metal bands this country has to offer, this event is also strongly centered around raising money for ‘The Center of Hope’, an orphanage in HAITI. Many of us here in Australia were overwhelmed at the destruction wrought upon this country when an earthquake on January 24 of this year resulted in the deaths of more than 230,000 people, injuries to more than 300,000 & 1 million more left homeless. This tragic event resulted in thousand’s of children being orphaned, and in the process worsened a problem that already existed, in what is one of the world’s poorest countries. Whilst much money has already been raised for general disaster relief in Haiti, this event focuses on trying to help a particular orphanage ‘The Center of Hope’, which is due to open it’s doors for the first time in the coming weeks. So in buying a ticket to this event you not only get to witness the biggest local metal festival held in Melbourne for quite some time, you will also be directly helping these orphaned children in Haiti & making a difference to their lives.

Happy May 26!

Happy Arcane day to our many followers, both Australian and abroad.

Our first concept album Chronicles Of The Waking Dream, (the story of which revolves around a man's obsession with memories surrounding the date of May 26) has been out for almost a year now!

While some of it's many mysteries and virals have been solved by our more dedicated followers, others remain unsolved. The extensive Chronicles hex code which appears throughout our live visuals, film clip and album artwork remains uncracked. The question of how the central characters/acolytes of Chronicles are tied to one another and to the album's narrator 'Acolyte: Zero' remains unanswered. The entity Zero refers to as The Waking Dream remains shrouded in mystery.

The following two websites give brief clues to the album's story line.

We thank you all for listening to Chronicles and continuing to help us get our music heard around the world.

Find life in stillness, breath in stone. And understand, learn. Know what I've known.
