The BarnBurner is practically a household name in its birthplace of Missoula, Montana. For a brief history of the BarnBurner, go to http://thebarnburner.com/about. We are very proud of this event and feel it has maintained the roots style of production that it was initially sought to be when conceived back in 1996. The BarnBurner has been a “turn key” style event over the past years. It has managed to reinvent itself by keeping local & fresh, and is always highly celebrated. We have gotten so much support from crew, patrons and musicians alike, year in and year out, which has truly perplexed the event through time. This year, we have chosen to “spread our wings” to venues across the nation to create an interactive experience that is like none other. We have wanted to make this happen for years and finally it has come together and promises to be an amazing weekend of celebration no matter which BARNBURNER 13 venue you choose to attend. This is the event your going to want to ring in the Druid New Year with.

TREE SOUND ON TYBEE - SOLAR & WIND STAGE

The 1st Annual Tybee Island Americana Music Festival to be powered by wind and solar power provided by Tree Sound Studios. About Tree Sound Studios In the spirit of continuous improvement, Tree Sound Studios has committed to offsetting 100% of their electricity related CO2 emissions from 2006 forward. That means that any album produced at their Norcross, GA facility will be made with renewable energy. Fifty percent of the studio’s power comes from Atlanta’s methane gas producing landfill and fifty percent of its power is offset by purchasing renewable (wind, solar and biomass) energy credits from Green Mountain Energy. By purchasing renewable energy credits in 2006, Tree Sound Studios helped avoid over 196,000 pounds of CO2, a harmful greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. That is like not driving over 218,000 miles or like planting about 11,800 Trees. To put this in perspective, it has the equivalent environmental impact of recycling over 484,000 aluminum cans or over 78,000 pounds of newspaper. By purchasing these renewable energy credits Tree Sound Studios is helping to avoid over 89 metric tons of CO2 emissions – this is a significant step towards reducing their business’ carbon footprint. Tree Sound Studios is taking further steps to be green by using LED and compact fluorescents where possible in the studio. They are using Seventh Generation cleaning products which are biodegradable in addition to recycled office supplies. Our newest planned endeavor is an organic herb, spice and vegetable garden on site to help educate and feed our staff and clients and enjoy the peace of nature. In 2007 the studio lined the roof with solar panels, and they have also added a tank of biodiesel for bands on the road.
