Cedar City, Utah - CEDAR CITY BAND TO RELEASE ALBUM RECORDED WHILE BASS PLAYER WAS AT WAR
Over 18 months ago the Cedar City based band Bottled Monkey prepared to launch into the recording of their debut album. As bass player Chuck Triplett prepared to ship off to Iraq, the band decided to push through the creative process and succeeded in creating a magical piece of work titled Hallowed Ground.
Prior to deployment with the United States National Guard, Chuck recorded all of the bass tracks with drummer Dennis Green in a studio nestled in the Triplett homestead. This jumpstart allowed for Dennis and guitar player/vocalist Brian Hoover, in Chuck’s absence, to record with John Houston in Hurricane, Utah. After numerous treks to the studio and hours of recording later, the trio’s debut full length CD titled Hallowed Ground is ready for consumption. In 2009, the band released an EP and every printed copy has sold out!
The band is proud of their work on this CD and the appeal to multiple audiences it embraces. Drawn on their influences ranging from REM, Pink Floyd and everything in between, the unique album contains catchy tunes that will meet the airwaves and please a variety of fans.
John Smith of 95.9 KZHK in St. George, Utah says, “I really enjoyed this! I dig the vintage guitar sound, and the band really brings it together on every track!”
The trio drew on their numerous individual talents and marries each to create unique sounds found throughout Hallowed Ground. The band’s confidence in this body of work is deeply rooted in items not present on the first EP. The 12 string and octave guitar work of Brian Hoover to the amazing background vocals of Dennis Green add layers of the band never heard before.
