I was recently asked in an interview what it meant to be nominated for an ISSSA Award. Being nominated by the media is brilliant, I must admit it has an aura about it being nominated by media. Some in media knows music, they listened to it a lot and are up with trends and what sparks interest and or is newsworthy. Yep being nominated by the media is brilliant, on the other hand being nominated by ISSA is different for me. It is humbling, it means more to me coz it’s my peers. People like me who stuck their heads up knowing that it could get chopped off and even ridiculed at. Issa are artists that knows what it takes to write that song, that emotion, that pride and pleasure of accomplishing an inner desire to share one’s craft, one’s soul and one’s globe moment. An Issa member who nominates you is one that were in the same trenches you were and understands where you come from. Their nomination is more meaningful to me coz that person recognise what I put in to try and make this musical world a better place. That is what an Issa nomination means to me. Being a finalist made me realise I have something to offer in the music industry, cos people I respect think so, our fans think so. That is the humbling part. ISSA is a family of musicians and like minded people who actually care about each other. RESPECT!!!

Story behind the song?
The very first band I played in was led by a married couple. Life wasn't panning out the way they thought it should. The rest of the band was young and wanted to live the young band life, however my mate couldn't, as he was married. Things went from bad to worse and the marriage eventually broke down. The band disbanded due to their divorce, however the memory of the hurt, pain tears and absolute heartache stayed with me. it moved me as I knew the loving was easy,it was the living that was hard.
The song was originally called" wilted flower". I changed it cause I realised that people might not make a connection between the title of the song and the song itself. for the lyrics and free download of this song please visit www.febs01.com
