In 1983, the independent gospel label Tyscot Records, started a secular R&B record division called Circle City Records. Between 1983 and 1984 Circle City Records released four of Paul Thomas songs as 12 inch singles. The first song “Magic” by the Circle City Band, received excellent reviews in Billboard, Cash Box and Record World music trade magazines and from national DJ record pools. It made the Top 10 list in several states and was used as the theme song for the station ID on the BET cable channel. This led to a distribution deal from Becket Records, a subsidiary label of Buddha Records which took the Circle City Band songs to fans overseas. “Magic” by the Circle City Band, a well-known single in the 80s, loved by roller skaters and fans of BET alike has maintained a timeless popularity due to today's internet phenomenon. Almost thirty years later, Luv N’Haight presents the complete full-length album of the Circle City Band including unreleased tracks! The live performing band features vocals by founder and original member Paul "P" Thomas (also on keys and rhythm guitar), Thaddeus Luster on vocals and percussion, Grover Wilcher on keys and vocals, Linelle “Akram” Scott on drums, Bradley Lott background vocals and keys, Rudolph “Ray” McCallister on lead guitar, Carmen Sherrod on bass and Marvin Weatherspoon (Chi-Lites, Heatwave, Steve Arrington)on keys and guitar and introducing young Amanda Wilcher on lead vocals, keys and saxophone! Sincerely, Thank you and God bless!
