Magna City Arts Festival

Lorenzo Blackburn and I will be playing the Magna City Arts Festival on 25 August at 7:00pm

Fiddle player

We have been fortunate to have the incredible talented Kim Dubois join us on fiddle and mandolin for several shows. Looking forward to working more with her!

Ogden Amphitheater July 1

Had a great time up in Ogden, we opened for Henry Turner and his group from Louisiana. It was a eat out concert. Henry cooked that good ol Cajun style catfish and beans, we played a set then had dinner then sat back and watched Henry and Flavor take over. Sheri did a great job of organizing this!

Sugar House Park event

A couple of weeks ago John Paul, Lorenzo Blackburn and I played at a fund raiser held at the Sugar House Park in SLC, Utah. The event was to promote the prevention of child abuse. It was set up around a run/walk around the park along with refreshments and of course lots of music. Had a great time!

Sons of Other Mothers Band

I met John Paul last June (09) at Gepetto's Restaurant at an open mic type show. We hit it off right away. Our styles are very similar. He plays more finger style guitar and he writes incredible songs. We played a few places during the summer and into winter. My neighbor Ren Blackburn is an incredible bass player. He and I have been meaning to get together for ever to jam. Well, it took the Ward Talent show to get us together. By then John and I had a routine and we added Ren. Ren fit in so well that we have formed our acoustic trio.

Show

I received an email the other day from another local artist wanting to know if I would come over and jam a bit. I did and he wants to do a couple of open mike type shows. We have been working on a few songs the past couple of weeks. It is always interesting how another musician "hears" your music. He plays keyboards and I will play the guitar. Hopefully it will turn out well. Through this artist I met another guitarist, We will see how things turn out.
