What an exciting October for Quactus. We kicked off the Particle 10-Year Anniversary Tour at Winston's in San Diego, CA on October 6th. They dug playing with us so much that we're gonna do it again on November 11th at The Mint in LA. That's going to be a benefit show for Global SEVA Challenge raising money and awareness for AIDS education in South Africa.
We jammed it out in Wrightwood, CA at the Dead on the Mountain Festival on October 23rd with Delta Nove and The Maykers. Duffy even led the drum circle with his full kit around the campfire. Thanks Howard for a real good time.
On the 23rd Duffy, Gabe and Keith (Erickson) had the pleasure of heading to the Sea Palace Studios in Palace Verdes, CA to jam with Particle's Charlie Hitchcock live on the internet. Check it out at www.stickam.com/sundayskool.
A spooktacular Halloween at The Mint in LA with Cubensis where they performed their "Mystery Album" which was Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane. We all came to the party to bust some ghosts as Quactus dressed as the Ghostbusters and encored with the theme song. This show will be up on archive.org shortly.
So what's coming up?
We'll be jumping right back into it on Tuesday night when we'll be down in Huntington Beach, CA at The Marlin Bar with our friends, Barley Legal, celebrating the democratic process with our ROCK THE VOTE PARTY.
After that we head back to The Mint in LA for the benefit with Particle on the 11th. Then we hit the road for Arizona where we'll have three performances. The 12th of November at Flagstaff Brewing Co. in Flagstaff, AZ kicks off the weekend. Then on to Tempe where we'll be playing an in store acoustic show at Zia Records at 4pm on the 13th. Then on to the Sail Inn that night for a show with The Noodles all on the 13th.
We will have the new album along with us for purchase as well as the unveiling of the new Quactus T-Shirt...you'll dig it!
We'd also like to welcome the newest addition to the Quactus family, Keith Erickson. Keith has been sitting in with us on percussion and we've agreed he's earned his spines.
Thanks to all of you Quacti for your support and we look forward to seeing you really soon.
Let us know where you are and where you'd like us to be!
Quack Quack Quack,
