We had a FABULOUS time at Abbey Road on the River this past Memorial Day Weekend. Weather was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our intimate concerts at the Ali Patio. Thanks to everyone who came to hear us! So the second week of May was intense for us! We made the Top 70 for ABC's Rising Star Season 1 and were flown out to L.A. Wednesday-Friday for a final audition to be on the TV show. Unfortunately we didn't make the final cut, but it was still a great experience. On Saturday, May 17th (day after we returned from California), we drove down to Paducah, KY for the Lower Town Art & Music Festival and had a fabulous time there. The crowd was great and we sold lots of merch. We had a number of people asking for cds, which we don't have yet so that's been added to the top of our to-do-list! We also had a blast playing the cocktail hour at Ferdinand's Ball on May 1, an annual fundraiser supporting Old Friends, a non-profit farm that rehabilitates thoroughbreds whose breeding and racing career have come to an end.
Such an exciting month and more exciting endeavors ahead!!
We had our first full 'public' show this past Saturday and couldn't have been happier with the turn out! Based on the door cover we had at least 50 people pack the Monkey Wrench. We also got to share the stage with two fabulous local bands The Hart Strings and the Whiskey Riders. They were a joy to work with and were great at helping us promote the event. Local bands supporting other local bands like it should be. It was a positive experience for us, and we look forward to honing our music and sound even further! On another note we play for the Gonzofest Press Conference tonight!!
We had a great gig last night performing at Bluegrass Brewing Company for a Trail King Industries VIP Event for the Mid-America Trucking Show. We played three hours of covers ranging from Carrie Underwood to Shinedown to Old Crow Medicine Show to The Beatles to Bonnie Rait giving them our Southern Siren flair. The audience was great and even asked for an encore. We played 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons which was a big hit. It was a great night. If you know any corporation who needs to add some Southern flavor to their event send them our way!
We had a great time performing as part of the variety show for the Ed Sullivan/Beatles 50th Anniversary Reenactment in the Bomhard Theater at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. It was a sold out show of 650 people! Playing for that size crowd with so much energy was amazing and we are so blessed to have had that opportunity. We look forward to playing at the May version of this Festival on the Belvedere and hope to see some of your faces again in the crowd. We're looking forward to a fantastic year!
