Still traveling after all these years...

"When are you going to settle down, Gabriella?" "Don't you ever get tired of moving around so much?" If I had a nickel, peso, baht, rupee, shilling, shekel... for every time I heard those words....! Actually, I've noticed that after 20 plus years of traveling around this great big small world, I get asked those questions less and less frequently. I think that the people who have known me long enough, the ones who used to ask me those questions most, have finally accepted my gypsy lifestyle and don't feel the need to ask anymore. That being said, this past winter I decided in a very unlike me fashion to move to Portland, Oregon instead of going to India like I has originally planned. What? Wet? Winter? Why? Well... I guess I figured... Why not? Also, I wanted to step it up a notch with the music and not just be the hippie with the guitar singing around the campfire on the beach (although that is still, to date, my favorite venue to play at/on/in?) So now I'm "settled" (for the moment) in Portland, performing a fair amount (4-6 shows a month), writing songs (mostly in other languages), and recording a new album (which will include many of these songs in other languages). Then again, as I write this I'm in Naples, Italy and when I get back I'll be hopping in my car and immediately driving down to California and then I might go up to Canada and then.... there's festival season, and the trip to Montreal, and Boston and....
