The Road

Every once in a while you get a wake-up call. For all the driving we do, we’ve been extremely fortunate that our worst vehicle mishap has been a flat tire and an occasional engine light (#fingerscrossed #knockonwood). Today, while driving Dan and Mark to the airport in Greensboro, NC, we were hung up on the freeway for 20 minutes as emergency responders cleared an accident – a truck carrying landscaping supplies went up in flames, we don’t know how the driver fared, but it looked scary. The guys made to the airport and all was well. Now, John, Nicko and I are looking on as another accident is cleared right in front of us… Hoping that these folks are okay. Now, I will say, if there’s one thing I can’t stand, its humans who want to get out of their vehicles and take pictures as if it’s some side-show attraction. There are people in those cars who are in a bad way or worse than that. Have a little freakin’ respect and put your camera down! Also, there are some yayhoos driving in the ditch as if they’re going to get through the line of policeman. Here’s what I’d like to see, I’d like to see them get a hefty ticket and watch the entire stream of traffic (according to our navigation, the line goes back about a mile) drive by them before they can get back on the road. Now that’s something I’d take a picture of!
