Lord, have mercy on a workin' man

Hey yall...i hope this blog installment finds you well. 2013 is all wrapped up, and we're now full steam ahead into 2014 with lots of exciting stuff on the horizon. As im sure most of you have heard we're gonna be on the new History Channel show "appalachian outlaws" sometime in February, and we're super excited about it. Its definitely a great opportunity to get some exposure for us on the national stage. We're also in the studio working on our third album, "The Road to House Mountain". Its a moodier album than the first two, but also the first record that I feel truly identifies our sound going forward. It's a focused record, and one that we're really having fun recording. We're doin it all "Live" in the studio...The whole band playing together at the same time with the purpose being to capture as much of that raw energy as possible on record. Its an important album for us, no doubt. We're pumped about what 2014 has to hold...thanks for the support and friendship. See ya soon

Notes from the Road

In the past 10 days we have seen so much and met so many fun and interesting people. We started out 10 days ago with a visit to the East Tennessee Distillery, from there we headed to the New England Parrot Head Convention in Mansfield, MA. What a time that was. A party of no equal. It was an incredible time and a real pleasure to party with some great people!!!! We enjoyed a day off in Boston, drinking beer where Paul Revere once did. Boston was a great city, so much history and hospitality. We got a chance to get up stage at a couple of bars, met some great musicians and had an incredible time. We are planning shows up there, so look for HMW to return to bean town soon. From the the cobble stone streets of Boston's North End we travelled south to the DC area where we held up in the studio to write a little and record a jingle for the afore mentioned East Tennessee Distillery, makers of the fine Mellomoon White Whiskey! We hopped up to Philly for a show, hung out with some of our great and dear friends and made several new ones. One of the perks of our job is to have the opportunity to know so many great people and have such great friends all over the country. It is always so great to see y'all!!!! From Philly we crossed the the beautiful state of PA over the Pennsylvania Turnpike and into Pittsburgh. What a cool city this is. We all loved it! (even though we were greated by the men and women in blue) Shared a bill with a cool band from KC and had a great time!!!! Friday we were back on the turnpike headed to Shepherdstewn WV for a show at the Opera House Live. This is a great hall and an awesome town. The show was fantastic, we had never performed here and we were welcomed with open arms. We can not wait to get back!!!! Today we head over to Mt Nebo, WV for another show and then back to Knoxville. We are anxious to get home to play for the home town crowd, but we will right back out on the road headed to Chicago soon. Thanks for all the support and we will see you out there on the road soon!!!!!!
