Often times when an artist writes a song, there is little conviction towards them as to what the song is about. That is not the case of our song, More Than a Song. This past week we had the opportunity to play it for all different groups of people and the one thing we discovered was that, although they were grasping the true meaning behind the song, we were not. Sometimes as writers, we need to sit back and gaze at the work God has created through us and really marvel at what it's true purpose is. More Than a Song is just that, it's less about the song and more about the meaning behind it and truly living out the lyrics we sing, rather than just singing them. We are so thankful for the song because it wasn't just written for congregations, but most importantly ourselves, without even realizing it in the beginning.
