I started teaching group guitar lessons this month in our new business office building, Prepare For Rain. It has been a hoot to teach again and watch my students improve. I use my own songs to help them learn which makes it especially fun for me! If you have friends that want to learn to play the guitar that live here in Boise, Idaho have them look me up on face book at Janet Lund Music. They can register for the workshops from there. Thanks!
My daughter turned 18 two weeks ago. One of my gifts to her was writing her a new song. It is a song about looking back over the years and how time flies. It was hard, but I sang it to her. Afterwards my daughter, my husband and I cried. It was great!

Had a great time singing at the Christmas Market. Heritage Hall is an awesome room to sing in! Highlights were seeing friends and providing a 3 year old the music she needed to get her groove on! Too cute! You go little girl!!
Hey! I am going to a Gordon Lightfoot concert tonight here in Boise, Idaho USA. I am stoked! My friend Lisa, who is a professhional painter, has helped me see the importance of feeding your artistic soul by going out and experiencing other peoples art. I totally agree. When I have been especialy to someone elses concert it stirs up my passion for music. Out of that enthusiasm comes my music with my flavor mixed in. Love it! Have a great week everyone!
It's always good in the midst of our busyness to remember what really matters! I was really looking forward to filming on Tuesday, but it wasn't so important that I couldn't put work on hold for a few days and reschedule the appointment. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how far we get with our music. If our careers come in front of everything and everyone else then we may find ourselves without a single friend or family member in the audience. It's our friends and family that support us in the ways that only they can. I sang my mom-in-law the song, Tea Time, which I wrote for her from the perspective of my daughter. It's a sweet little ditty that can't help but inspire you to pick up the phone and call someone special. :)
Next Tuesday Lisa and I will be doing a combined concert and live painting performance from 5:30-8:30pm at The Coffee Studio. A year ago I put together an event that included Lisa Marten painting and our friend Angela Neiwert doing pottery while I put on a concert. It was a hoot for the artists and the audience! We had a lot of fun last year working together, inspiring each other. I am really looking forward to working with Lisa again next week! Hope to see you there! Janet :)
