I was so inspired by watching Andy Mineo of 116 not just hanging with secular rappers on MTVs Rapfix cypher, but dominating on top of them. http://on.mtv.com/JJvLtR For far too long Rappers that represent Christ, often known as "Christian Rappers" have just kept their genre in front of christian audiences, its not all their doing, the media would never want to let someone on the air that's gonna preach to them... However is that not what every artist of every genre does, shoves down their belief system through the airwaves and media. Here's my question. If artists can blaspheme a Name that half (more or less) the population holds sacred without it bleeped out or frowned upon, How come when we stand up against what was done we are the ones who have taken it too far? The 2013 VMAs was a scene of the sacrilegious church rising up. Artists such as Mackelmore took time out in their thank yous to preach same sex marriage. His song "Same Love" did the job just fine as well as bashing the church and twisting what believers in the Word believe. So, what if an artist wants to thank God?, take time to spread love?, even mention there's a better life found in Him than their is in a lover of the same sex? We've seen it all too often, they're bashed, disgraced, thrown under the bus. What we fail to see is they're doing the exact same thing Mackelmore is...Sharing their faith or beliefs if you will. Lets not forget this issue is not resolved in the world, one who is against it has every right to say the same as one who is for it. (Yes, now Christians know the right answer if they know what the Bible says, but that's a different sermon.) Right now lets just say our peace as these gay marriage activists can do. Not get on the Bible till they do take that step in an actual church, but for now stand up and say in our future we want to see kids with a Mommy and a Daddy, A Husband who shows us how to treat a lady, when struggles arrive lets see a unit who can conquer them and move on. Right now we're dealing with the A&E and Phil Robertson dispute. My view is if you can't say your feelings on your very own TV show, where can you say them??? Surely if people didn't like his comment they can just stop watching, but it was a persons opinion. Even if a person all out bashes a homosexual (which I would frown upon) Its no different then when Christians or Pro-Marriage believers are bashed and disgraced all throughout the media. What I hope to see in our medias future is more of what the 116 clique has displayed and that is simply sharing their faith on the scene. Not getting upset or bashing a fellow rapper that wants to make money, get girls and go to hell. (as you see in the cypher video) but simply giving the media the balance it needs. Here are believers in the same old same old, and Here are believers as the represent the one true thing, God.
