Double-Neck John builds the song live. If you listen closely to the beginning you can hear the layers. First he plays the bass over a prepaired drum track. Then he adds the rhythm guitar, and finally the lead guitar is layered. After the intro is complete he " goes live " with his guitar and vocals over the beat. Sometimes he pulls the layered part back for his solo. On his Wonderful Tonight video you can watch the layering at the beginning of the song.
