James Carr & The Comrades play original tracks written and arranged by the members of the band, mixed together with creative re-interpretations of rock'n'roll, blues, soul, and rock classics.
This blend of original and classic material brings together and gives a contemporary feel to number of different styles and influences, including the gritty sounds of the pre-WWII American South, the attitude of the post-war Chicago scene, the swing rhythms of the European 'hot' jazz clubs, through to the Euro-American fusion of the transatlantic revival.
