November/December 2012 update

Hey everyone. John from SMD here. I hope you all had a great holiday with family and friends. I had a nice quiet Thanksgiving with my beautiful wife and 9 month old daughter. I Couldn't have asked for a better day. Work continues on the new cd that we started recording at the end of 2010. So much has gone on since the beginning of the recording that it has become extremely difficult to get a lot accomplished. I am really hoping to make a lot of progress before the end of the year and I will keep you all posted as things happen. Musically the 4 songs are almost complete. Rog just has to lay down the solos. Everything else just needs vocals. Light Up Ahead is complete. We mixed it but have to tweek it a bit. I would really really love to record another song or two. We have tons of songs to choose from but we've already dragged out the recording process by an insane amount of time and money is super tight as usual. Not sure if we will be able to do it but we'll see where we're at when the 4 songs are complete. Thanks again for supporting us and please feel free to drop us a line and say hi.We hope to have new music in your hands in 2013. Stay tuned!

November update

Hey everybody. Just a quick message to let you know what we've been up to. I was recently interviewed on trebleradiorocks.com along with my new guitar player Dan. The interview was a lot of fun. We talked about how Dan became the new guitar player for the band as well as where we've been and where we are going as a band at the moment. I'll send you the link to it as soon as I get it. Our song A New Skin hit #3 on songvault.fm's hard rock charts and Talking to a Deadman just cracked the top 20. On ourstage.com A New Skin is currently #15 in hard rock for November. This is a big jump considering last month it only made it into the 400's. We added a song to jango.com that is not available anywhere except on jango. The song is Darkness Falls. It's a completely different version than the one on our 2002 cd Sink or Swim. It was recorded in 1999 with our original drummer Pat. I honestly like this version better. Check it out at http://www.jango.com/profiles/39875070?l=0. And finally, after taking a year + break Roger Manzo has returned to Sixty Miles Down on guitar. Roger joined the band in 2003(I think) and played on the New Skin cd. Welcome back Rog! All we need now is a drummer and bass player to complete the line up. We'll keep you posted on the search. If you know of anyone that can play and might be interested please point them in our direction. Thanks for the support and friendship.

things and more things

I cannot believe how hard it is to find musicians. We are still looking for a new drummer and two guitar players. I had 4 or 5 drummers contact me in May. They all wanted to get together and play but no one called me back. I am waiting on 1 drummer to get in touch with me. On The plus side we have a brand new song called BURNED that is almost complete. I can't wait to get it up on this site so I can get some feedback.

Updates

We are still looking for a new drummer and second guitar player. The search seems never ending. We are working on some really cool new stuff that I'm excited about. We are also on general rotation on Jango.com. We're getting a really good response which is really cool. Check it out. The link is www.jango.com/sixtymilesdown.

Hello there

We're kind of new to this site so please bear with us. It's going to take a little while to get the page together. If you like our music you can find us on myspace as well as iTunes and cdbaby.com. We are currently writing new material and recording for a new release in 2009. Please check back for updates. Thanks.
