So along time ago us same four guys were in a band called 12tone. It was more progressive rock. Alot of Tool influence for sure. After recording one album that way we found our way into playing more blues after being inspired by the genre of "stoner rock" Stoner Rock is a bluesy, riffy, fuzzed out evolution of classic rock like Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix. With the complete overhaul to our change of sound we decided we needed a new name. We spend awhile trying to figure out names. Then we heard a song that was on the Deseret Sessions 9 & 10 recorded by PJ Harvey and Josh Homme. It was pretty rad. It was called Powdered Wig Machine. In ode to Deseret Sessions we decided to name ourselves Powered Wig Machine. It was a big strange but it fit and over the years we've seem to have grown into the name. Someone once told me It's the band that makes the name, not the name that makes the band. Imagine what people thought of the Beatles name before they were famous. - Joey
