In April I went through a surgery in my right arm. Incerted a steel plate (this is Heavy Metal) into the arm after. Since then I have not done any work on the new album to Voluspaa. But have made some plans and visions for the future.
Today I have beenin the studio and tried out some chores. When I suddenly came across some forgotten Voluspaa material. It was really cool to hear this again!
I hope to be able to take off my cast in approximately two week. A little excited about how it is to play instruments again. But the plan is then to try out some of this old material and adapt it to Voluspaa 2015.
The plan was that the new album would only have new songs, created by me and Oscar. But since he has left the band, and since I have found so much older material, the next album will be a mix of old and new ... just like the album Asa.

After a very productive start to 2015, ithas been a little quieter in April. I'm a excited about the future and I will go on with a positive feeling.
Tomorrow I'll have a surgary and insert a small steel plate into my arm, so that it will heal after a fracture. This will make it harder for me to record more music for a little while. Hopefully I will be back in full speed during the summer.

Hey!
I was thinking of useing the blog a bit more, just to keep you up to date on how the status are in the world of Voluspaa.
Today we rehearsed so that we can get ready with the new line-up for the fesivals. Andrè from Mistur is glowing on guitars. He is becomng better and better within the sound of Voluspaa. I'm so looking forward to sharing stage with him.
We also tryed out a new bassplayer today. He got a call from us yesterday asking if he could come and play with us. He said yes and only got one day listening to the songs. And he came to the rehearsäl with a six strings bass...and he did his job very well.
We will give him one more week with the songs and try him again next week. Excited to see him once again playing our tunes.
7" split
I got the test-pressing this weekend. It sounded very promesing and I'm really excited to get this release out to you. The release is set to 29th of April!

Hello everybody!
I was planning on writing a long blog about the history and future of Voluspaa but it seems like it will never happen, so I’ll write small up-dates on what the status are today.
Members:
First I will announce that we have now gotten a new guitarist for our live line-up. André Raunehaug, known from the Norwegian band Mistur, has decided to share his skills on vocal and guitar with us. We had a little test few days ago and he nailed it with no problem.
Live:
Voluspaa will appear on some Festivals this year. First out is Leidang Fest in Stavanger Norway. Here we will play as the first band (!) on Saturday…8 o’clock. There will be many other great bands at this festival…Glittertind, Tyr and Fortid, just to mention a few. So we are looking forward to this.

Second festival, we are co-headlining in Nurnberg in Germany. It’s called Fimbul Festival. This will really rock. We are so fucking ready to show the Germanic people our Norwegian romantic black metal. They will not forget this on many years! www.fimbul-festival.de
Release:
On 29th of April we will release a split 7” vinyl with our great friend and producer, Lars and his one-man-band Myrkgrav. This release will be limited in 500 copies and will be released on the German label Einheit Production.

Hey all!
Here you have some news on our new album called Åsa.
A song from the final mix is added @ www.reverbnation.com/voluspaa. The song is called Hvorfor..., and it's the song from the album that has every part's and instrument that we use on the whole album. Here you can get a view into what to expect from fiddle, female vocal's too clean and growl vocal's, acoustic guitars too brutal and playful metal guitars.
I have also added a new medley from the final mix. So check it out.
And you'll also see the new cover I have made for the album.
Sadley the album has been delayed once again. The album was ddue to be out in early autumn but now it's late in January.
Thanx for reading this and keeping up on what's up ;)

Hey all. It’s been a damn loooong time since you’ve heard from me. So sorry but now I got some good news.
Record label
Voluspaa is now proud to announce that we have now signed a deal with Aurora Australis Records (www.myspace.com/aurora_australis_records). Many of you have not heard about this lable. It’s a small Australian lable with a big heart and a great taste in music. As the new album was coming along Voluspaa has gotten many offers from both big and small labels. But AAR was the one with the purest wish for the Norwegian future.
Live
Voluspaa will now prepare for some gigs again. We will play two shows with the great Norwegian band Susperia. These two shows are in Norway, Arendal and Koppervik on the 18 and 19th of December.
The new album
Today Lars and I started to mix the new album. And I must say that this will be both a massive and beautiful album. The songs are much rawer and on the same time more atmospheres of the acoustic folk parts.
The album will hopefully be out in December, so save your money for the greatest surprise of the year ;)
Soon I will also add an new song from the new album on www.reverbnation.com/voluspaa, so keep checking in!

Hey all, it's been a while and I hope you all have had a great summer!
The new album is coming along nice and slow. The album recording has taken more time than expected but I feel that I can see the end of the light at the end of the tunnel...far away there hehe.
Lars has been away and outside of Norway since early June and will not be back before the 15th of august. Mean while I have recorded fiddle and female and male vocal's at my cabin. This week I will also record some more synth and piano for the album.
All most all lead vocal's are no done with and I'm pretty pleased with the result. The growl vocal has become very angry and massiv. This has taken the album to a more black metal place, along with the angry guitars, but it has a more folk and viking side when the fiddle and female voice sets in.
My clean vocal on this album will be somewhat more pure and some places it sounds very cool hehe.
Well the feedback on this album, from several people over here, has been beyond all expectations, so I hope at in the end I don't will dissapoint you.
